Your engine suddenly stopped working and seized at 150,000 miles with no warning signs beforehand. A mechanic confirmed the engine is seized, meaning it's completely locked up and won't run. This type of failure may be part of a known issue affecting some Kia vehicles. Fixing this will likely require engine replacement or a complete engine rebuild.

Your engine is making a rod bearing knocking noise and stalled while you were slowing down. Rod bearing failure can cause oil leaks that could potentially lead to a fire. Two mechanics have confirmed this is a known issue affecting Kias, though your 2010 model year isn't covered by the current recall for the same problem in 2011–2013 models. The fix will likely require engine inspection and rod bearing replacement or engine rebuild.

At 134,000 miles, your engine developed a knocking sound while driving on the interstate. Within 5 miles, the knock became a loud bang, and shortly after an even louder bang occurred—at which point a connecting rod had pushed through the engine block, causing complete engine failure. Your car was full of both oil and coolant at the time, and the failure happened suddenly with no warning signs.

Your car shut off completely while driving in traffic at about 40 mph with no warning lights appearing. When you tried to restart it, the engine kept stalling repeatedly on the way home, and you heard a loud knocking sound from the engine. This could indicate a serious internal engine problem that requires immediate inspection to prevent further damage.

WHILE DRIVING HOME ONE DAY IN DECEMBER 2015, EACH TIME I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT, YIELD SIGN OR SLOWED TO A LOW SPEED (LESS THAN 15 MPH), MY VEHICLE WOULD SHUT-OFF MULTIPLE TIMES. MY IN MOTION SPEED WAS APPROX 45 MPH WHEN NOT APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT OR YIELD SIGN. IT HAPPENED BOTH WHEN I WAS TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT ON MAIN ROADS WITH 2-4 LANES. THE DEALERSHIP AND ANOTHER ASME CERTIFIED MECHANIC BOTH STATE ENGINE FAILURE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH 2.4L ENGINES MANUFACTURED BY KIA AND HYUNDAI AROUND THIS YEAR UP TO 2015.
I WAS PARKING MY CAR IN A LOT WHEN IT SURGED FORWARD (ACCELERATED SUDDENLY) WITHOUT MY DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, SEVERELY DAMAGING THE OTHER VEHICLE AND MINE. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY. *TR
