2017 Kia Forte Electrical Problems

On [XXX] at [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] , when I noticed smoke come from the left side of the interior of the car near the fuse box. Within seconds, the fuse box exploded, and a fire developed. The fire engulfed the entire left side of the interior of the car.

-Airbags did not deploy. -The car is available for inspection. -The driver was put at significant risk after the vehicle accidentally slid on ice while navigating a sharp curve, causing it to veer off the road and crash into trees.

Starting around 50k mileage, the engine experienced misfire-like issues: rough idling & transitory reduction of power during acceleration and cruising. This was brought to the dealership multiple times, but the check engine light had never come on, nor were there any error codes saved in the OBD system.

I bought this car brand new at the end of 2017. I have taken extremely good care of the car. A little over a year ago, I took it into the dealership to get something cosmetic fixed on the interior.

My car was parked outside like it always is. Went for a walk and when I came back, my car had been on fire. After fire department did their investigation, it was deemed electrical.

Has gone through 5 sets of headlamps in the first year and a half of cars life. Usually a electrical burning smell occurs when bulbs burn out. Have asked dealership to address the issue with every oil change only to get confused looks or insured excuses.

The car was involved in an accident and the insurance company informed the lienholder that the vehicle was possibly a total loss and the lienholder ignored them and sold the vehicle to a public auction without contacting the original owner of the car to pay on the vehicle either.

The autonomous emergency braking (aeb) and forward collision warning (fcw) systems on my vehicle never activate when traffic situations are obvious for the aeb and fcw to activate. Even home-spun system tests don't show the systems to be operational.

I am writing to you today regarding a persistent issue I'm experiencing with my 2017 Kia Forte. On several occasions, while driving at various speeds and coming to a stop, the vehicle has stalled. Each time, I was able to restart the vehicle after the stall.

I was driving down 84th st and came to the light on 84th and pacific ave and the engine wanted to die out and put my foot on the gas pedal to keep it running and then turned right onto pacific ave and went to 80th and pacific ave and the car died out towed it to the house and checked the oil and everything and there was no oil the oil indicator light did not turn on at any point of time so I added oil and started the engine back up and now it has a engine knock like the rod bearing went out I am going to contact the kia dealer in the morning and see what's the problem and everything and everything happened on city streets

The car is only 2 years old and it would start intermittenly. Sometimes it would start with no problem but sometimes it would not start at all. I turn the ignition key and I could barely hear clicking sound and nothing.

My battery has failed to start my car twice in a month. I took it to the dealer; they ran it through the computer; the battery came back 'functional'. This did not happen at all last year!

On march 1, vehicle had been parked for 10 min on a cold day after being driven for a few hours and 'engine oveheated' came up on the display. Vehicle was towed the following day to cable dahmer kia where they said the cause was an electrical glitch and that the car was fine. On august 3rd, I contacted cable dahmer kia because the car was idling extremely low/stalling.

I have 2 problems with my 2017 Kia Forte sedan: 1) They have put an "environmentally friendly" coating on the wire harnesses under the front hood of the engine which emits a vanilla scent when warm and attracts rats that eat the wire harness when the vehicle is parked. They need to revert back to the original jacket material on the wire harnesses that don't attract rodents.

The knock sensor failed. As a consequence the vehicle will not run properly. The vehicle has been at Fred Beans KIA of Langhorne for several weeks.

Headlights started to flicker off and on after using the blinkers. Just randomly. The alarm won't arm or disarm unless I put the key into the ignition, the alarm (and horn) is set off, I have to take the key out and disarm the alarm it with the remote.

Car does not turn off. Put car in park, remove key, still running. Change gears, step on brake, park, remove key while still on brake pedal, still running.

The head light turn off occasionally when the turn signal is used and does not always come back on with out playing with it or jiggle it. It has put mine and others safety at risk at dark. The dealer recommends replacing the multifunction switch.

3 weeks ago my vehicle went through its annual safety inspection here in massachusetts and it failed. The problem has to do with my rear brake lights which were not working. The technician informed me that the electrical wiring was burned out due to water getting into the lines.

While driving my check engine light came on and the car began increased vibration. The light would go off when coasting and turn back on when accelerating. By the time I got home the vibrations continued even when in park as well as not acceleraing.

In the last 1 1/2 years of ownership I have had many issues with lights going out. First both break lights went out and I replaced them. Then the driver's side headlight kept going in and out.

- low miles and still under all manufacturer's warranties. - engine will idle rough, vibrating the whole car while stationary. Dealer could not replicate.

In august 2018, my son started the car and the instrument panel was not operational and all warning lights were lit. Car still drives. In november 2018, we took the car to kia.

The finger press fails to start when parked in hot sun. It will then start with pressing the key on button- then a notice appears that the key is not present. But, car then runs fine.

Kia forte driverside front head light on low beams will not come on. Dealer states part is on back order when having oil change done several weeks ago. In three weeks will need car to drive possible at night to child college graduation through mountains.

Ignitions coil springs part kia 27303 2e601qqk was replaced by kia delaler as part of a recall according to dealership. When I arrived , service advisor said that I was there for oil change and two recalls. I set appt.

Unknown, can’t see the road at night due to the headlights not aimed towards the right direction they seem to be pointed down and at different angles.

The light that marks the low oil of the engine, never turned on and the engine’s time belt was damaged as a result of this, and one of the valves too, and the car just consumed the synthetic oil in just about 7 months, and this is a factory defect because the low oil light inside the car never turned on. And I need that the company replace my engine as a result of this manufacturing defect.

I keep having issues with the crankshaft pulley and the drive belt.

The trunk seal is not functioning properly. Water gets into lighting and causes mold in truck.

My 2017 kia forte is a easy target for the " kia boys" here in columbus ohio.. My car was a victim of theft where my passenger glass was shattered and my steering column was taken apart and my ignition was jamed in by a screwdriver. Kia has made this car susceptible to theft and has nothing to do about it.

The automatic trunk latch will no longer works , so the trunk of my car is opened. The button on the key pad works fine but the latch will not lock . My car was sitting in the parking lot of my apartment complex.

While driving down the road the headlights flicker and go out completely. I have to flip the turn signal switch or tap the column to get them to turn back on . It happens several times on my 32 mile trip home from work at night .

When I brake, the braking lights don't turn on. I have checked the fuses and the lights bulbs and they are fine. Yet when I brake, the brake lights don't turn on.

My car the gas shoots out ,I have to go through all this with a new car my engine light been on from the time I bought it this car gave me problems every time I bring it back they said just drop it off so we can try fixing it it take up to three days are more plus they don't give out loaner car at all so how I suppose to get to work so I continue to drive it like that.I don't know why I brought this car.

Volume buttons on steering wheel volume up turns volume down, mute button turns volume up.
