Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2014 Kia Forte vehicles manufactured December 5, 2012, to April 17, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the cooling fan resistor may overheat and melt.
Fix: Kia will notify owners, and for vehicles produced from December 5, 2012 to January 27, 2014, dealers will replace the cooling fan resistor and multi-fuse unit. For vehicles produced from January 28, 2014 to April 17, 2014, dealers will replace the multi-fuse unit only. Owners of vehicles with a 1.8L engine will also have the engine control unit software updated. The recall began on February 20, 2015. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC113.

Your 2014 Kia Forte enters limp mode when stopped at traffic lights, and you've noticed burning oil smell and smoke from the engine despite having an oil change less than a month ago. Kia sent you a recall notice offering free engine inspection and system update, but the dealer completed only the software update in one hour without performing the promised engine test or inspection, then charged you $270 for diagnostics. When you left, your car wouldn't start properly and went into limp mode again. Kia customer care confirmed you should have received a free inspection with the recall service, and the recall should not have been marked as repaired since the underlying problem remains unaddressed. The repair will likely require a full engine diagnostic inspection, possible valve or gasket work, and proper software recalibration.

The car will randomly cut off while driving, to restart the car must be put into neutral to restart and the lights go off during that time. If you are on the interstate going over 50, it will jerk and restart itself but the steering gets really stiff and you have to pull over and cut car off and restart to get the steering to work properly again.
Driving to school and the engine started acting weird and took to Good Year mechanic and I received the attached invoice. Kindly refer to the invoice.
Driving down the highway and check engine light came on and dropped the cars speed down to 30 mph and was stuck on the highway and I called the KIA dealership that I got the car from and they cleared the code on the car and claimed they fixed it just for the car to go back into limp mode and now I’m stuck without a car and the dealership doesn’t want to fix it
Electrical problems from the start when purchaed November 2016. Ghost electrical problems, affecting radio, gas guage, lights, and traction, Also tail lights leaked water in.
Vehicle states glow relay stuck on (p1326) vehicle has gone into limp mode. Not able to drive over 60mph. All recommendations by Kia has been completed and vehicle still in limp mode.
My car was parked overnight in front my house on the street, and I remote started it around 4 pm. As I was looking out the window to check if the car started- I saw it moving forward. I ran out of the house and within a few seconds- the car rolled into my neighbor's truck and sustained damage to the hood and frame. This is a safety issue because the car is a push start car- and should not have started and moved. Luckily it hit a parked car and not a person. The remote start came with the car when I bought it from the kia dealership in 2013. I called kia corporate and have an appointment to get the car looked at the closest dealership. I did not have any warning lights- but I did have my car recently serviced (oil change and valve cover repaired). I also am dealing with a clogged catalytic convertor due to a leaky valve cover- and was told by kia corporate this may be covered under a class action lawsuit.
on or about 6-6-2023 store employee Tim Creel was airing up the tire on the passenger side front of the vehicle. Tim used a kia air compressor which comes standard with a lot of today's Kias instead of spare tire. The tire pressure reached 32 psi when Tim unplugged the 12v connector. As he went to walk away he noticed flames coming from under the plug in spot. The vehicle proceeded to keep a fire going for several minutes as the other employee Eddie pulled up and put it out with a fire extinguisher. The owner mark then advised a report be made. The D'Iberville police and fire dept showed up. They issued a case number of 23-01640 by officer IPOCK. Please find attached photos kind regards Timothy Creel
My car caught on fire out of nowhere when i pulled into my grandmother's driveway. I had smelt smoke maybe 10 minutes before I arrived but assumed it was from someone starting a fire while I was driving. No smoke had started forming while I was driving. The smoke rolled out from the dash board area and kept spreading once I had arrived and got out to get my grandma from inside. My entire car was engulfed in flames within minutes. The firefighters informed me that they had put out another kia that same day and that there was active recalls for fires on kias. I kept my car at a tow lot for almost 3 months waiting on kia to inspect it. They claimed it was an outside source but I have video proof of us trying to put out the fire and the moment i pulled into the driveway. Kia is a terrible company and deserves no money for their cars. All of my stuff I was moving with was in the vehicle with me and Kia took no blame. They are lucky her house didnt catch fire too because it was almost close enough
My car caught on fire out of nowhere when i pulled into my grandma's house. I was unaware of a recall until I was advised by the firman that put my car out that they had also put another kia out the same day and it had a recall. Upon searching I found this recall. I contacted kia and went through their claims process. They inspected my vehicle and are still claiming it didnt come from inside the dash board which is where the fire originated when I tried to put it out before it got out of hand. I have a video that proves i pulled in and it caught fire spontaneously. Kia has but me through trauma with that fire and I am lucky to still have a job with the work I missed without a vehicle.
Cars brake lights remain on and engine will turn on with out pressing the brake peddle. Consistent with recall on same model produced during the previous two years and up to 2 months prior to current vehicle.
The Air Bag light stays on consistently, with the exception of flashing off for a brief moment periodically, only to return on immediately. Steering wheel mounted audio controls have mixed up controls, volume operating channel skip, while channel skip up, skips down, etc... I don't know that it is possible for the air bag to deploy unexpectedly, without impact, but the obvious concern is that it may not go off in the event of an impact, leading to excessive injuries. I had an independent service center advise me that the likely cause is a faulty Clock Spring, as this would cause issues with the steering wheel controls as well.
When I engage the left turn signal the headlights will intermittently shut off. They sometimes come back on and sometimes do not. Usually after completing a turn they come back on. It's unpredictable and this has caused some scary situations. It is a continual problem that needs to be fixed by KIA.
Driving down a country road at night when my abs light came on. After a few seconds my power steering went out and the main console died. The headlights began to dim and the dashboard lights sputtered on and off. The car shuttered strongly and then died. We were stuck on the side of the road in the middle of the night for over forty five minutes with a screaming infant with no warning that this was going to happen or that this part needed to be serviced or replaced for the milage of my car (90,000).
Airbag light stays on all the time. Brake lights constantly burning out breaking system system will skidvover grates at bumps. Car will scrape over roads. All steering wheel functions not working
Car started over heating, took it to the shop and my engine coolant resistor was melting, they replaced the part and it is starting to melt again and my car is starting to over heat
I bought the car in November 2 weeks later driving on December 10 All lights came out car loss power and engine blew off I was driving at around 55mph I’m still paying for the car but I never received no notice for the recall I need an answer ASAP the cae as been in my garage since December 10/2020
ON 2/19/2021 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HWY AND THE CAR WAS LOSING POWER. I DON'T DRIVE IT THAT MUCH SO WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS JUST ME. BUT AS I PULLED INTO A DRIVE THRU AND WAS COMING TO A STOP, THE CAR WAS IDLING A LITTLE ROUGH AND THE ENGINE WAS TICKING AND LIGHTLY KNOCKING. ALSO HERE IS A LIST OF CONTINUING ISSUES THAT WE HAVE HAD OVER THE YEARS SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW WITH LIKE 12 MILES ON IT. THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAS NEVER WORKED. THE RADIO BLUETOOTH ALWAYS HAD CONNECTIVITY ISSUES. THEN THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED AND IS STILL ON. THE TIRE SHOP SAID IT MIGHT BE A DEFECTIVE TIRE SENSOR BACK PASSENGER. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON NOW. THEN THE RADIO ANTENNA FELL OFF THE ROOF, I GLUED IT BACK ON. RECENTLY THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL HAVE NOT BEEN FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, OR NOT AT ALL. AND THE DRIVER WINDOW BUTTON DOES WHATEVER IT WANTS TO DO, SOMETIMES IT WILL WORK WITH SOME LIGHT FINESSE.
PURCHASED ON JUNE 27 2019. 3 WEEKS LATER I STOPPED BY DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE IT'S BEEN A NIGHTMARE SINCE. CAR HAD BEEN CONSUMING OIL AND I'VE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS. JUST HAD MASTER MECHANIC REPLACING CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND IT'S ALREADY PLUGGED. KAY ON BOTH ACCOUNTS ASSURED ME NOTHING WRONG, NICE CAR HAS 23 BRAINS IT'S THE ECHO DRIVE. ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS AND NO ONE CAN GET A CODE READING, NO ONE BUT KIA. BOTH SERVICE REP, TYLER AND KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS AGENT, DEAN THOUGHT I WAS, AND REFERRED TO ME AS WHARTON WHOM PURCHASED THE CAR 2014 AND HAD ENGINE PROBLEMS ACCORDING TO THESE INDIVIDUAL THAT THOUGHT I WAS THERE FOR SAME REASON. I CALL JAN 20TH 2021 AND TOLD I WAS NOT AND CASE WAS CLOSED DUE TO I BEING INFORMED OF RECALL TO WHICH I CALLED AFTER SEEING ARRIVAL ON LINE. I'M ADVISED TO GO ON YOUR WEBSITE WITH MY VIN NUMBER AND FIND OUT IF I'M PART OF RECALL. I AM NOT. WHY????. DRIVING MY KIA FORTE 2014 ON THE FREEWAY, AS I WOULD ACCELERATE MY CAR WOULD HESITATE. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE MORE AND IT WOULD SLOWLY DIE DOWN UNTIL IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT IT WOULD COMPLETELY TURN OFF AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. I GOT IT DIAGNOSED AND ITS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THOSE ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST A LIFE TIME. MY CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND I HAD A PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 1989 THAT LASTED 20+ YEARS. NOW THE INSIDE OF MY CAR SMELLS LIKE GAS AND I JUST GOT THIS CAR A COUPLE MONTHS AGO!

THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF ONCE HE NOTICED THE SMOKE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL SEATS WERE BURNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME, THE VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED A SHORT FUSE CAUSED THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THEY WOULD RECEIVE A CALLBACK. A CASE WAS OPENED WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE MATTER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,483

THIS CAR HAS SEVERAL ISSUES WHICH I HAVE FOUND OTHER 2014 OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS I DO. THE HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS TAKE TURNS GOING OUT. I AM TO THE POINT ABOUT EVERY 5 WEEKS I AM REPLACING A BURNED OUT LIGHT. ONE HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT THEN I FIX THAT. A FEW WEEKS LATER I WILL GET PULLED OVER FOR A TAILLIGHT.BEING OUT. ONE OFFICER TOLD ME HE WAS GIVING ME A WARNING BECAUSE HIS WIFE HAS THE SAME ISSUES WITH HER LIGHTS GOING OUT. I WILL REPLACE THE TAILLIGHT THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER THE OTHER HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT THEN THE OTHER TAILLIGHT WILL GO OUT. I FIND MYSELF ALWAYS REPLACING A LIGHT. I'VE PULLED UP TO MANY FORTE OWNERS TO LET THEM KNOW A TAILLIGHT WAS OUT AND THEY ALL SAY "AGAIN" THE LIGHTS ARE A MAJOR PROBLEM. ALSO MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WON'T GO ALL THE WAY UP. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED THEN ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE THE WINDOW WILL GO ALMOST ALL THE WAY UP BUT IT STILL LEAVES A LITTLE GAP IN THE WINDOW FOR AIR TO COME INSIDE WHICH WILL CAUSE YOUR CAR TO ROCK BACK AND FOURTH FROM THE AIR FLOW IN AND OUT. ITS DANGEROUS AS IT HAS EVEN PUSHED ME INTO THE OTHER LANE FROM THE AIR PRESSURE COMING THROUGH THE OPENING IN THE WINDOW.

THE FIRE WAS COMING THROUGH THE LIGHTER/CHARGER PORT CONNECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED DUE TO THE FAILURE. A FIRE INSPECTION REPORT WAS PROVIDED AFTER THE FLAMES HAD BEEN EXTINGUISHED. A DEALER WAS CONTACTED CRAIN HYUNDAI OF NORTH LITTLE ROCK, 5660 WARDEN RD, NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR 72116, (501) 232-4018 BUT HAD NOT PROVIDED ANY TECHNICAL GUIDANCE AS OF YET. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY INVESTIGATE THE FIRE. 100,000.
WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION ON A DOWNWARD SLOPE LIKE ON A BRIDGE OR WHERE A ROAD IS BROKEN, ON APPLYING BRAKE IT SEEMS LIKE THE PEDAL IS TOUCHING THE GROUND MAKING GRINDING NOISE AND CAR SKIDS AND DOESN'T STOP. I HAVE INSTALLED NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS ON ALL FOUR SIDES. WHEN TURN ON THE IGNITION, CAR DOESN'T START AT ALL, DOESN'T EVEN MAKE CLICKING SOUND. WHEN TOUCH THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT POSITIVE CHARGE SYSTEM THEN CAR STARTS WITH KEY IGNITION ON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS DRIVEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY ASSUMING BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED. NO LIGHT ATE ON WHEN TRY TO START THE ENGINE.
WIRING TO THE HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING IS MELTED TOGETHER AND GE FAN DOESN'T WORK ALL THE TIME. DONT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. AND THE ADAPTERS DONT WORK CANT CHARGE PHONE . ALSO THERE IS A TICKING NOISE COME FROM THE FRONT OF CAR U CAN HEAR IT WHEN IDLING BUT GETS WORSE WHEN U STEP ON THE GAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD.OIL HAS BEEN CHARGED AND IS CHECKED FREQUENTLY. THE NOISE STARTED RIGHT AFTER HAD OIL CHANGE AND TIRES ROTATED.
03/08/19 AT 5:45AM I WAS ENTERING US HWY 23 N. BOUND FROM CENTRAL AVE. IN SYLVANIA OHIO. THE CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AS I TRIED TO GET ON THE FREEWAY. SUDDENLY I HEARD LIKE A FAN NOISE, THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF! I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS SMOKE WAS FILLING THE CABIN. I GOT OUT AND WENT AROUND FRONT AND FLAMES WERE COMING OUT BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE FENDER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I CALLED 911. ONE POLICE AND 2 FIRE TRUCKS SHOWED UP IN NOTHING FLAT! THE FIRE WAS MOVING INTO THE CAB. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS! AFTER MY OWN RESEARCH I FIRMLY BELIEVE IT WAS THE COOLING FAN RESISTOR. THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE NOISE I HEARD AND THE FIRE.
VEHICLE IN MOTION HIT DEER. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AT THE TIME AND CONTINUES BEING A HAZARD AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. SMELL OF SOMETHING BUT INFO TURNED OUT TO BE BLOWER MOTOR CONNECTOR THE BLOWER MOTOR MALFUNCTIONS THE SEATBELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN
PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WON'T WORK AND IF YOU TAP ON THE TURN SIGNAL THE LIGHTS FLICKER IN THE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL, THE INDICATOR GAUGES/SENSORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATING LOW OIL PRESSURE, AS WELL AS OTHERS ARE CURRENTLY NOT WORKING AND MY ENGINE IS BURNING OIL IN EXCESS OF MANUFACTURES SPECIFICATIONS. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE IS THAT THIS CAN CAUSE MY ENGINE TO SEIZE OR CATCH ON FIRE WHICH IS AN IMMENSE SAFETY CONCERN. PER THE YORK PA KIA DEALER, THE OIL WAS EMPTY THE OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR NEVER ILLUMINATED. IT WASN'T UNTIL MY CAR WAS DEEMED EMPTY THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR WAS INSPECTED BY DEALER AND YORK KIA (SEPT 18) CLAIMED NO PERMANENT DAMAGE TO MY ENGINE AS A RESULT. (VEHICLE PASSED EMISSIONS/SAFETY TWO WEEKS LATER - MONROE MUFFLER & BREAK, YORK PA) AS MY CAR DIDN'T SEEM TO BE LEAKING OIL, SUBSEQUENT VIGILANCE BY ME REVEALED THAT MY CAR WAS BURNING OIL. TWO FOLLOW-UP VISITS SINCE SEPTEMBER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM WITH LANCASTER PA KIA (LAST 11/27 - 11/28 (81,500 K ON ENGINE) AND WORK WITH GWC (POWER TRAIN $2,100 WARRANTY) AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY HAVE BEEN REJECTED DESPITE EVIDENCE THAT MY CAR IS BURNING OIL IN EXCESS OF SPECS. AS I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER, NOR DID I PURCHASE THIS AS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE, AS THERE IS NO ACTIVE RECALL, KIA WILL NOT REMEDY. MAINTENANCE RECORDS SUPPORT THAT THIS VEHICLE WASN'T MECHANICALLY NEGLECTED AND MAINTAINED BY ALL PREVIOUS OWNERS. HAD RECALL REPAIRED ON 01-26-18 & HAD CHECK ELECTRICAL WIRE IN PHOTO, & WHY DID NOT START WHEN TURN KEY. NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING INCLUDING PERSONAL MECHANIC. FOUND KIA FORTE HAD MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS & THIS SHOULD NOT OCCUR WITH 4 YEAR OLD CAR. OCCURRED 2ND TIME ON 07-20-18 & WHEN WIRE TOUCHED TO "TIGHTEN," CAR STARTED. FEELS LIKE WANTS TO CUT OFF & YOU CAN FEEL VIBRATION, BUT SEEMS TO KEEP GOING. SEEMS TO OCCUR AFTER RUNNING THEN PARKING, BUT ALL LIGHTS & BELLS ARE WORKING, SO NOT BATTERY. SITUATION OCCURRED PRIOR TO RECALL FOR REPAIR & WAS TOLD TO TELL KIA SHOP. YOU HAVE TO CHECK MANUALLY, NOT DEPEND ON COMPUTER AS THAT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PROGRAMMER. IT CAN MAKE MISTAKES, TOO. ALL TIMES VEHICLE WAS PARKED AFTER OPERATING. IT COULD CUT OUT IN MIDDLE OF INTERSTATE & CAUSE SERIOUS OR DEADLY ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AND SOMETIMES SHUT OFF AND THEN BACK ON. FAILURE APPEARS IMMANENT.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED COUNTLESS TIMES. SUCH AS TURNING ON THE BLINKER MAKES ALL LIGHTS GO OUT IN CAR THEN TURN BACK ON AS WELL AS REPLACING THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ENGINE: SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT SHAKES AND VIBRATIONS OFTEN TIMES. THE SAME WAY THE KIA OPTIMA ENGINE THETA LL ENGINE HAD TO BE RECALLED DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE THIS ENGINE HAS SIMILAR ISSUES AND IT OVERALL ISN'T THE BEST CAR WITH A PASSENGER SAFETY RATING OF JUST 2 OR 3 STARS. KIA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND RECALL THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE UNSAFE. MY ENGINE SHOULD NOT VIBRATE THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO THE POINT WHERE I'M VIBRATING OBNOXIOUSLY. ALSO THE ELECTRICAL HAZARDS ARE UNREAL ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE TO REPLACE BRAKE LIGHTS MULTIPLE TIMES. KIA. LOOK INTO THIS AND FIX IT. THESE THINGS HAPPEN WHETHER THE CAR IS MOVING OR NOT.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT WITH WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON IN THE CAR THAT WON'T GO OFF IN THE TRUNK AND THE DASH THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE CAR WON'T START IF ITS PARKED SLIGHTLY DOWNWARD
THE COVER OF THE ANTENNA ("SHARK FIN") HAS FELL OFF POSSIBLY DUE TO A CARWASH. THE COVER PROTECTS THE ANTENNA AND POTENTIALLY SOME OTHER WIRING IN THE CAR AND ITS RADIO. THE MANUFACTURER (KIA) DOES NOT REPLACE THE (PLASTIC) COVER, BUT RATHER CHANGES THE WHOLE ANTENNA WIRING TO THE RADIO. THIS COSTS (IN THE DC AREA) ABOUT $650. I DO NOT SEE THE REASON WHY THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT HAVE A MORE INEXPENSIVE SOLUTION FOR THIS RATHER POTENTIALLY FREQUENT PROBLEM. IS IT REASONABLE TO ASK FOR THAT MUCH MONEY IN ORDER TO SOLVE AN EASY TO FIX PROBLEM THAT IF NOT FIXED MIGHT MESS WITH THE ELECTRONICS OF YOUR CAR? I THINK NOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA FORTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE BEING DRIVEN LOW SPEEDS. VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL OPERABLE AFTER A MANUAL RESTART. FREDY KIA (11711 GULF FWY, HOUSTON, TX) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
MY CAR ALWAYS GETS STUCK IN PARK IF THE CAR IS LEFT RUNNING (EX. PARKED IN DRIVE THRU TO GET FOOD AND COULDN'T MOVE). I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF IN ORDER FOR IT TO CORRECT ITSELF. A TON OF TIMES MY CAR WONT START BECAUSE IT THINKS THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK. 1ST TIME THIS HAPPENED WHILE AT A GROCERY STORE IN THE SUMMER WITH GROCERIES IN MY TRUNK WERE SPOILING. SAT THERE FOR HOURS WAITING ON ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, BEFORE CALLING MY OLD MECHANIC IN ANOTHER STATE. HE ADVISED ME TO WIGGLE THE GEAR SHAFT FURTHER UPWARDS TOWARD PARK, BEFORE TRYING TO START AGAIN AND IT STARTED. 2ND TIME THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN, IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE I KNEW OF, AT A GAS STATION. VERY CONCERNED; EXTREMELY ANNOYED. THE GUY AT THE KIA DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS HAPPENS A LOT WITH THESE CARS.
TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CONSTANTLY GOES ON AND OFF, CAR CONTINUALLY GETS STUCK IN PARK AND WHILE DRIVING DASH DOESN'T SHOW GEARS. BROUGHT TO DEAL PROVIDED PICTURES AS PROOF AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. ASKED FOR PAPERWORK AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD MAIL IT NEVER RECEIVED PAPERWORK.

ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2014, MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING OUR 2014 KIA FORTE WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE. AS SOON AS I PULLED THE CAR OVER TO THE SHOULDER, FLAMES CAME OUT OF THE HOOD.
