2018 Jeep Wrangler Suspension Problems

Car Shakes like crazy ( death wobble) expecially on Highway from hitting a little bump or transition on road.

I had the common issue with Jeep ‘18 wranglers called the “death wobble”. I read many articles saying it’s common with jeeps from the 2018 era. One day I was driving and it stopped in the middle of the road.

I was told that they had a recall on that 2 years and 3 months ago, and since the 2 year warranty expired, there was nothing they could do about it.

Took jeep in for a recall on steering stabilizer and was changed but still getting the "death wobble" when I drive or 50mph and hit a bump in the road

After steering damper recall was completed I'm still experiencing the "death wobble".vehicle only has 2,600 miles and has been to the dealership 3 times and get told every time that everything looks good. Problem occurs when I hit a bump or a rough spot on the road and the vehicle and steering wheel begin to shake like the vehicle is jumping on the road.

2018 jeep wrangler has the "death wobble." specifically, while driving above 50 MPH, the vehicle somewhat frequently hits a bump or crack in the road which causes the front suspension to violently shake and essentially lose control. The only cure for this "death wobble" problem is to slow down to below 20 MPH or more often slow down to a complete stop.

I have already filed one complaint on this and heard nothing. This is the second time I have had my 2018 wrangler into the shop for repair for the same issue of the "death wobble" (when hitting a bump on the highway it goes into a terrible wobble you must slow way down for). No recall and still having problems.

It started with the 'death wobble' driving interstate speed, 65, over a bridge and go overing one of the bridge spans spacers.the "death wobble" is a very dangerous vibration that occurs in the front end of a vehicle. When a vehicle experiences death wobble, the entire steering system rapidly turns back and forth, making controlling the vehicle very hard.

The welds on the rear suspension are horrible. There are large pieces of slag wherever there are welds. There are already places where some slag has fallen off and spots have started to rust.

After purchasing seems the VIN was updated with information I was not disclosed. The bcm has never worked correctly the instrument panel is erratic and even with a code reader showing P codes there’s no check light. The steering makes the entire vehicle jump over half a road.

Driving at 60 mph on I-35 North Highway in Kansas City. Hit a bridge seam and the front end began to shake violently. I had to slow down to get the vibration to stop. I definitely experienced the Jeep death wobble in the front suspension.

As the customer was driving if a forward direction, traffic came to a very fast decrease in speed causing the driver to apply the breaks harder than normal breaking. The driver felt and heard a loud pop, followed by a big jerk and violent shaking.

Rear lower control arm mount/ track bar mount failed. Appeared to have only half of the mount welded in a manufacturing defect. The right rear lower control arm bracket had separated from the frame.

Body: water leak from hardtop (right front passenger) and (front center - where hardtop meets windshield pillar). Multiple attempts to correct (replaced all seals) and there is still a leak from front center (where hardtop meets windshield pillar). Suspension: loud 'clunk' or 'thump' coming from rear when accelerating from both a dead stop and while moving at less than (5) MPH and accelerating.

At 9700 miles both my wife and I experienced the wrangler front end wobble. Speed was approx 60 - 65 MPH on a paved bypass. Both times it was when we were transitioning from a bridge to the pavement.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FIVE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

THE JEEP STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END SHAKE, AT TIMES VIOLENTLY. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THERE IS NO PARTICULAR SCENARIO FOR THE OCCURRENCE, ONLY WHEN IN MOTION, AND IS RANDOM.

WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND IT STARTED SHAKING TERRIBLY WHEN I HIT A BUMP. HAD TO PULL OVER. HAPPENED THREE TIMES TODAY. I'VE NOTICED IT RANDOMLY ON OTHER RDS BUT NEVER THIS BAD.

The steering wheel and front end will start shaking at higher speed after hitting some small bump. It's getting so bad I've to slow way down on the freeway to get the jeep back under control. It wobbles from one side of the lane to the other.

Violent shaking-seems like the front tires are alternating on and off the roadway at high speed. It happens after hitting a small uneven area on a highway while traveling at highway speeds (70). Have to apply the brake to break it out of the shaking.(down to about 45mph).

Improperly tightened ball joints. They were loose and made a clicking noise when steering.

I took to my local mechanic after noticing that the car shakes very time I hit bumps while driving my mechanic inspected it and noticed that there's a crack in the the weld in the front track bar bracket. same as the safety recall UA5 that FCA has for the same year and model jeep for that year and when I called them they said that mine was built after that by a month.

When looking at the vehicle on a car hoist, unsatisfactory welds on the chassis were identified. The welds occurred at various locations and included defects such as excessive porosity, excessive weld spatter, and off location of the original weld and touch up welds. I am not a certified weld inspector, however I am a state certified welder, and federally licensed aircraft mechanic.

Nothing happened per say. Saw a news story regarding the investigation into jeep for poor workmanship on frame welds. Had my jeep looked at and realized mine has faulty frame welds, as well.

Bought a 2018 jeep jlu new. Had it for only 5 months and all of the welds on the frame and axles and other components have rusted. Has only been driven on the road and never seen its first winter

Steering loose or not tight. Vehicle wanders all over the road. Will not track straight.

My jeep is six months old with approx 11100 miles. Recently while driving at speeds of 60 or higher, when I hit a bump on the highway my steering wheel violently shakes until I ease off the gas and/or slow down.

Front track bar welds are of poor quality, porous, lack of penetration and not continuous as a weld should be. Welds apprear as unsafe welds for holding the track bar in place while driving the vehicle. All other welds on vehicle have rust showing on leading edges and also lack of penetration on welds thought out the weld bead.

Driving home from work - roughly 30 miles per hour when suddenly my jeep pulled hard to the right. I had no control, bounced off a phone pole and my airbag went off. It felt as if something in the undercarriage simply gave out.

Welds on track bar mount not lined up correctly. Throughout the rest of the frame, lots of slag, misaligned welds, bad penetration, malformed weld caps, spatter, and porosity.
