Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured June 16, 2015, to August 14, 2016. In certain crash conditions, the front impact sensor wiring may be pulled until it detaches before a signal can be received by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC).
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reroute the front impact sensor wiring and relocate the impact sensor branch, free of charge. The recall began on November 10, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S76.

Your clock spring has failed, which is the component that allows your steering wheel controls to work properly. As a result, your horn, cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, and the audio controls (volume and channel paddles) no longer function. Your airbag system may also be affected since the clock spring is part of that safety system. The clock spring will need to be replaced, and the airbag system should be inspected to ensure it's functioning correctly.

The airbag light is on. The clocksprin is the failure and is very expensive at the dealer.
The airbag clockspring is defective. I know other years have a recall on the defective part. The cost of labor and the cost of the part is too expensive. I consider this a safety issue and feel like it should be under a recall like the previous model years.
Airbag light continually goes off and on with alerting beep and light

WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, I'LL HEAR A SINGLE AUDIBLE 'DING' AND THEN SEE THE AIRBAG AND ESP LIGHT ILLUMINATE ON DASH ALONG WITH THE SPEED ODOMETER DROP FROM THE SPEED TRAVELING TO 0 BEFORE NORMAL OPERATION. THIS HAPPENS MUCH MORE OFTEN WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IN ENGAGED. IT HAPPENED 5/14/2017 WHILE TRAVELING INTERSTATE 65 TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT NOT ONLY DID I HAVE TO CANCEL CRUISE CONTROL, I ACTUALLY HAD TO TURN IF OFF TO STOP THE DINGING AND FLASHING OF THE AIRBAG AND ESP LIGHT. I HAD TO FINISH THE LAST 2.5 HOURS OF INTERSTATE TRAVEL WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL.
