Filed: Mar 2026

Your vehicle's automatic emergency braking system has activated twice without warning when there were no obstacles or hazards present—once at 30 mph and again at 55 mph—causing sudden, unsafe stops that could lead to rear-end collisions. The dealership performed a software update to the Adaptive Cruise Control module but couldn't identify the root cause, and the manufacturer is reportedly aware of similar issues without a fix available. This may require further diagnostic testing or replacement of the forward collision avoidance system components.

criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your 2024 Compass is displaying multiple warning messages on the dashboard including blind spot monitor, lane assist, automatic emergency braking, rear brake lights, and turn signals — even though some lights appear to be working normally. The dealership replaced a faulty front sensor and claimed the issue was fixed, but the error messages returned within an hour of leaving, especially when you disable the auto stop-start feature. The warning systems appear to be malfunctioning even though the actual lights and collision detection are working, creating a dangerous situation where critical safety features aren't being properly reported. This likely requires a comprehensive electrical diagnostic to identify whether the problem is a wiring issue, sensor failure, or software glitch affecting the vehicle's warning systems.

Your fog lights turn on and off by themselves intermittently. Your forward collision warning system triggers repeatedly and requires manual resets. Your automatic emergency braking has engaged multiple times without any apparent reason or obstacle present.

Your 2024 Jeep Compass is displaying intermittent warning messages for the engine, automatic emergency braking (AEB), and Start/Stop system, along with a daily airbag warning light that comes and goes. Most concerning, the AEB system activated on its own while driving with no other vehicles nearby, causing sudden emergency braking. The dealership cannot reproduce these issues when you bring the vehicle in, but the airbag warning and false AEB activation suggest electrical problems with your safety systems that need diagnosis. A technician will need to scan the vehicle's electrical system and safety module for faulty sensors or wiring issues.

criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Oct 2025

Your forward collision avoidance system is incorrectly detecting stationary roadside objects—like construction barriers—as hazards and automatically applying the brakes hard without warning. This sudden braking causes you to temporarily lose control of the vehicle, creating a dangerous situation. The dealership and Jeep have confirmed this is happening. The fix will likely involve recalibrating or reprogramming the collision detection sensors and software.

CrashFiled: Oct 2025

Your car's lane-keeping system suddenly jerked you off the road and simultaneously disabled your forward/rear crash detection sensors and automatic high beams without warning, which scared you and your family. Since then, your forward crash warning stays on constantly and won't turn off, your lane-keeping system is completely disabled, and you've experienced multiple electrical failures over two weeks. Your dealership has only been able to clear error codes and restart the system, which hasn't fixed the problem. The issue appears to be a computer or electrical system malfunction that's making your vehicle unsafe after just 17,000 miles.

Your 2024 Jeep Compass has experienced rodent damage to engine wiring, with repairs costing around $4,000. Additionally, your automatic emergency braking system warning light comes on frequently and has activated the brakes twice while driving without reason—the system suggests cleaning sensors, but the problem persists even after you've cleaned them.

Your 2024 Jeep Compass is failing to start without any warning lights appearing. This problem has happened about four times, and the dealer has determined the battery needs to be replaced. Even after repairs, the issue has recurred approximately three times at around 12,000 miles. The fix will likely involve replacing the battery and possibly investigating why it's failing prematurely.

Your 2024 Jeep Compass experienced a failure to start and unexpected deceleration while driving at 35 MPH, with check engine and throttle warning lights appearing. The dealer diagnosed a dead battery cell and auxiliary battery failure, which was repaired, but the same problem happened again shortly after. The issue may require battery replacement or electrical system diagnostics to prevent future failures.

Your check engine light came on while backing out of your driveway, followed by dashboard lights flashing and the engine shutting off. When you restarted the car, the emergency brake engaged on its own and all exterior lights began flashing. After the dealership replaced one sensor, the same warning lights and flashing lights returned when you picked up the car, and they diagnosed a second faulty sensor. Your car cannot pass NYS inspection until these electrical issues are fully resolved.

Your turn signals are activating on their own while you're driving at different speeds, and your dashboard is showing a message that the Active Lane Management System is unavailable. This suggests an electrical glitch in your turn signal or lane management system. The dealer hasn't diagnosed or fixed the issue yet, but Jeep is aware of the problem.

Electrical system is astoundingly horrible in these Jeep Compasses. When steering wheel is turned to make a turned or when it is raining, the dashboard lights up with error messages stating, front collision unavailable, auto high beam unavailable, Auto Emergency Braking Limited Functionality, blind spot alert unavailable all requiring service. This is not the first Jeep Compass this has happened too, it also happened with my previous Compass - which I took it in for service more than 11 times for these same issues.

we purchased the car in Jan of 24 (lease) - for my 16 year old. wanted a SAFE car that was reliable. We had issues since the start - the interior goes black - nothing inside the car works but it still drives. No blinkers, no back up camera, not heat, no radio, no lights - nothing - it has been in the shop 6 times. Well over 30 days and nothing has fixed the same problem. Jeep has not worked with us on a solution. AWFUL customer service. we have asked for the lemon law buy back - no follow up or explanation. Looking for ANY help we can get. This car has been awful/ this has been happening the whole time - but most recent was when we brought it in on 4/4 - and still do not have the car back.

Initially, the dash light would not go off once the door was closed. It killed the battery therefore had to take it to dealership and leave it, was told it was the auxiliary battery that was causing this. Batteries were charged but not replaced. The next incident was with fog lights. Carrying it to dealership over 6 times to find out from last dealership that the feature on the car was which was not explained when purchased or none of the mechanics could explain. Next i found out that the 3rd brake light was not working. Carried it to dealership only to learn that the wires had been spliced and it did not come from the manufacturer like this. Carried it back to dealership where it was purchased , they installed supposedly safety pulse light which was not working. The mechanics installed a new one which still didn't work. Eventually could not get it to work but got the 3rd brake like to work without the pulse. This was supposed to be a safety feature that the dealership say they put on all of their cars , question was asked if other 2024 jeeps had issues or was it just mine. The answer was that it doesn't work on all cars. My issue is if dealership installed it should have been corrected before it was sold and also sales people that don't know the details of the car and mechanics likewise. I have a little over 7700 miles on this car and issue started around 2400 miles

On Thursday October 3rd I was driving in stop and go city traffic. After accelerating to leave from a light my jeep died in the middle of the intersection. Total loss of power and slammed to a stop almost causing the person behind me to hit me. It started I drove it back to work. Later that day I left work and stopped to get gas. Turned it off, pumped my gas, went to go turn it back on and it wouldn't start. Just made an engine cranking sound. I hit the button a couple more times and it slowly cranked and started but it was sputtering and the dash and infotainment screen were very dimly lit. When I put it in drive it had no power, like it was in limp mode. I couldn't go past 20mph. My work was only around the corner so I drove it there and had it towed the next day to my closest Chrysler dealership. I have yet to hear back from them. My vehicle has 1,500 miles on it... Before this incident, I had lost power to my infotainment screen numerous times and while driving I've felt a jerking while accelerating. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE.
