Your vehicle has experienced a recurring problem four times in four months where multiple warning lights suddenly appear on your dashboard (brake warning, forward collision alert, check engine), and your car struggles to accelerate properly. The dealership has replaced different components each time (ABS module, hydraulic brakes, engine control module, and forward collision camera), but the same type of issue keeps returning, sometimes leaving you stranded on the highway. You're concerned that Hyundai isn't properly diagnosing the root cause and that the underlying electrical or sensor issue may be affecting your brakes, transmission, and engine. A complete electrical system diagnostic and possible reprogramming of your vehicle's control modules may be needed to identify and fix the source of these repeated failures.

Your 2020 Hyundai Tucson unexpectedly shut off while you were driving, though it restarted afterward. No warning lights appeared on your dashboard before or after the shutdown. Your dealer has scheduled an appointment to investigate, but the problem hasn't been diagnosed or repaired yet. The shutdown may involve the electrical system or engine and could require diagnostic testing to identify the root cause.

Your Brake Auto Hold system is engaging on its own when you start the car and won't turn off when you press the button—you have to turn off the engine, restart it, and drive for a while before it finally disengages. This problem keeps happening. Additionally, your passenger's rear seat belt won't buckle properly, and your passenger's rear door handle cracked when opening the door. Your infotainment system has also stopped working.

Had for a year. 6 months ago, started sputtering, surging, slowing and dying on a regular basis. Have had it shop at Chapman used in Tucson, AZ and Lawley Hyundai in Sierra Vista Arizona 3 times. Chaan couldn't repair, so we went to Lawley. The mechanism there keep saying they cannot reproduce! The engine malfunctions 3-4 time during any drive we do. Has been going on for 6 months.

The vehicle is a 2020 Hyundai Tucson with AWD. Current mileage of the vehicle is 58,309. In the last 10K miles, there have had 4 separate instances of a sustained flashing check engine light that has put the car into limp mode. Since the first instance, a knock sensor, catalytic converter, and spark plug coil, among other things, have been replaced. However, the issues persist and have yet to be resolved. The engine continues to misfire, resulting in dangerous driving situations. Most recently (XXX) the car went into limp mode on an interstate highway where the vehicle was unable to accelerate and could not exceed 2000 RPMs. The code scanner read P1326 - Glow Relay Short Circuit. This was just a week after the vehicle was towed to McGovern Hyundai in Brockton, due to the car being in limp mode (XXX) and the vehicle was given a clean bill of health. I was told that there was no cause for concern and the code was cleared. I’m extremely concerned about this issue with the vehicle and don’t feel that it is safe to drive, especially when it loses power on the highway. The vehicle is insured, but has not been inspected by an insurer. Nor has the vehicle been inspected by police. The car has been inspected by the dealership, but that have not produced any findings. The car is certainly available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

NHTSA should have a non-official recall warning for Hyundai vehicles that have this software based Safety Defect, which is some models don't have a Passive Engine Immobilizer, and the vehicles can be easily stolen by starting the engine with a USB cord. Thankfully Hyundai(recall) offered a free Anti Theft Software Update, and a steering wheel lock. I checked my VIN number with the Hyundai Dealership in Oregon, and they said my car already received the Anti Theft Software Update. The only reason I knew my 2020 Tucson had this issue, is because State Farm cancelled my insurance a month after I started paying for it. State Farm and Progressive currently deny new policies for vehicles without a Passive Engine Immobilizer. Also State Farm still denied my insurance after I got the software update. Affected Hyundai models from 2011 to 2021 that have standard “turn-key-to-start” ignition systems/without a Passive Engine Immobilizer, are the Accent, Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, Genesis Coupe, Palisade, Kona, Venue.

Warning lights for Lane keeping, Blind Spot, ABS, Autohold, Foward collision systems came on and will not reset. Reports of this all over hyundai forums and owner fan pages (Facebook, etc). It can fool the driver into believing the car is about to be in an accident prompting panic response in drivers.

While driving one evening, it was brought to my attention that my passenger brake light was remaining on, when I was not braking. A week later, both sides are on. This happens only if my headlights are on - automatically or if I manually turn my headlights on. The back center light will only come on when I high the brake pedals. Again, back brake lights on driver and passenger side remain on regardless of brake pedal is engaged.

In September 2021 I bought the reference unit and on 4 different occasions I could not use it because it had no power. I took it to the dealer and they didn't find any problem, I used it again and again it ran out of power. It has currently been at the dealer for 5 weeks and they have not found the problem. I had a conversation with the previous owner and she told me that she had returned the unit to the dealer for the same situation. So far the dealer has not received an answer as to what is wrong with the unit. Nor have they provided me with a vehicle. This situation has affected my family since daily we are complicated about how to get to our jobs and schools. The dealer is Hyundai from Cupey, Puerto Rico PR-8838, San Juan, 00926 On April 16, 2022 dealer told us that they had solved the problem after being at the dealer for 7 weeks, dealer concluded that the car problem was the alternator. After using it for 2 weeks again on May 9, the car did not start and again were left without a means of transportation Consumer called a tow truck which took the bus to the dealer. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE GLASS WAS INOPERABLE. THE TAILGATE COULD ONLY BE OPENED MANUALLY, IT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON.

MY 2020 HYUNDAI TUCSON WAS PURCHASED NEW THIS YEAR FROM WEST HERR HYUNDAI I'M WILLIAMSVILLE NY. I WAS NOTIFIED OF A VEHICLE SAFETY RECALL RELATED TO ABS ISSUES IN SEPTEMBER 2020. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER EVERY WEEK SENSE THEN, AND THEY CLAIM THEY ARE UNABLE TO COMPETE THE RECALL DUE TO A LACK OF PARTS. I BELIEVE THE DEALER IS NEGLIGENT IN ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE AND I WOULD APPRECIATE HELP GETTING THIS SAFETY ISSUE REMEDIED.
