Your vehicle's forward collision avoidance and radar-based safety systems are disabling themselves and showing a "Check Forward Safety System" warning. This happens because the front radar becomes misaligned, which also causes your infotainment screen to go blank. When this occurs, you lose critical safety features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control, meaning you won't get alerts about potential front-end collisions. The fix typically involves having the front radar recalibrated or replaced, though some owners report the problem returns a few months later and requires another repair.

Your Forward Safety System warning light has been staying on for about 6 months, though it turned off and on repeatedly before that. The dealership estimates it will take a week or two of labor to diagnose and repair, which is costly given you purchased the car new. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the forward collision avoidance system's sensors or wiring to identify why the warning light remains illuminated.

Your car's forward collision avoidance system displays an error message whenever you try to use the cruise control button. This prevents you from using the cruise control feature. The issue may require a diagnostic scan of the safety system and potentially software updates or sensor recalibration.

While traveling on a bridge with a very steep incline, the forward safety system light came on, which disabled the cruise control. We could not resolve the warning light issue, despite taking it thru a car wash, hoping that the sensor was just dirty. The warning light remained on for several days, then went away. One month later, on a sunny, dry day, the light returned. I made an appt at the local dealership, where the car was purchased and they told me that the front sensor was out of alignment and I most likely hit something, which I did not. $370 for the alignment and since they assumed I hit something, it voided the warranty.

Check foward safety feature dashlight came on while driving, my blue link app told me the DTC c162078 chassis alignment failed front radar On Jun 4th 2024 while in park and idle my steering wheel kept going side to side, I recorded it not sure if that had something to do with this happening on July 2, 2024 and my safety is in jeopardy I feel due to the forward collision not working, smart cruise control not working, made appointment at hyundai dealership and I showed them the code bluelink told me to show them and they said they have to diagnose car themselves and the cost would be $169.99. I had to call hyundai customer care and get a claim number because dealership said they had to charge me. Two days i waited for dealership to call me the lady stated to let dealership know to waive diagnostic fee, I was told they would waive fee but I would need to pay $497 for part and $500 for labor which includes labor and recalibration, I told them I am financing a car I don't have safety features for, so I believe this should be listed as a recall or it should be fixed free of charge, being this is no fault of my own. No accident, didn't hit anything , I was driving at night and smooth roads. Dealership wanted me to lie to my insurance company and say I hit pothole. I told her no because that would be a lie.

Automatic emergency braking appears to be getting falsely triggered. This happens when I am pulling out of parking spaces, even with nothing besides or behind me. This also happens when cars in lanes beside me pass me.

There was no warning light illuminated. After each failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, no fault was found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 5,500.

On 2/26/2022, while driving East bound 134 at night. AEB of my 2022 Elantra kicked in. The first time AEB kicked in hard and I lost control of the car for a split moment. The warning sounds as the AEB activated and I swerved slightly (within my lane). This happened while I still had sufficient safety distance with the car in front of me and before the car in front of me began braking. The second time this happened was 10 minutes later, when there were no cars next to, behind, or in front of me. Same thing happened where AEB suddenly activated under normal driving condition. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This sudden braking puts me, my passenger, and car(s) behind me at risk. Potentially this puts cars next to me at risk too. The problem is currently under inspection by the dealer at Cardinale Hyundai in Corona, CA. Dealer so far has notified me the problem was unable to be reproduced and did not find any system or parts out of the ordinary. The vehicle has not been inspected by the police or insurance. This is a brand new 2022 model Elantra purchased on 12/31/2021. There were no prior warnings lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure. Dash cam video clips of both incidents are available upon request.
