2018 Honda Odyssey Electrical Problems

Water leaks into your van through the roof panel on the left rear side, possibly through a bolt hole or seam, and pools around the Power Unit Liftgate Module. This moisture causes an electrical short that prevents your sliding doors and rear liftgate from opening, trapping you inside the vehicle. The wet electrical components also create a potential fire hazard. Fixing this requires sealing the roof leak and potentially replacing the damaged liftgate module and related electrical components.

Upon further investigation, LOTS of 2018 Honda Odysseys are experiencing the same problem I am. There is a leak coming in from the top of the van in the rear that causes water to leak through and overtime damages the control unit in the back.

Like many other people on the [XXX] forums, our Honda Odyssey has a water leak that dripped onto the Tailgate Control Module, causing it to corrode and stop working. Now, our tailgate door will not open or close electrically, nor even manually using the handle outside.

In our 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L, a few weeks ago 5 different warning lights started coming on when the vehicle was started and continued while the car was driven. Lane Assist, collision warning, auto high beams, braking system and adaptive cruise control.

Suddenly the Van gave me 5 different warnings as below. Adaptive Cruise Control problem. Lane Keep Asist Problem 3.

Front camera failure causes multiple safety issues. Lane keep assist collision mitigation road departure mitigation high beam problem This is a known issue and the dealership knew about this immediately hearing the multiple warning signs. Cost of replacement is over $2000.

Front facing camera malfunctioning, and it is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction causing 5 different warning lights to show up on dashboard. Including 1.) Auto high beam problem, Lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, road departure mitigation problem.

Unknown but many Honda Odyssey owners are reporting the same issue which most likely caused by defective multipurpose camera at the front windshield. This create alerts and deactivates safety features: adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, Lane keep assist, collision mitigation, auto-high beam, road departure mitigation, and Brake system.

Driving vehicle on the road, the suite of driver assistance system suddenly failed including LKAS, front collision warning system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure as well as brake system light. I took the car to the dealership which indicated the front camera had catastrophically failed. This issue seems to be a recurring issue in all models of odyssey minivans.

Multiple dash lights warnings (LKAS, forward collision, lane departure, etc.) came up. Brought it to the dealership and was told that this is an electrical camera issue that is overheating, and there is no preventative or ways to keep it from happening. It would cost an upward of $2000 to fix it.

Lane keep assist, road mitigation, auto hi beam, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, road departure all errors and no longer work. New windshield wuth calibration august 2024, new battery 10/28/24. Issue started 10/25/24.

When audio system is turned on, a very loud crackling sound occurs, and will continue after audio is turned off. Sirius XM works most of the time (with crackling sound). However, when the regular radio is turned on the audio will work for just a minute (with crackling sound), and then it will suddenly stop working and a message pops up on the display that says "audio connection lost".

All of our sensor controlled equipment is not working. LKAS, ACC, Forward collision, auto brights, etc.

During my recent recall repair by Ed Morse Honda in Riviera Beach, FL, I was advised that the rear tailgate sensor was reported as "wet". I do the maintenance myself, so I passed on a repair at that time by the dealer. Today, I researched what might have failed both online and with my Alldatadiy subscription, and accessed the part.

Dash displays error message "Power Tailgate Problem". Tailgate does not open AT ALL with either of the following methods- key fob, button on dash, or button on tailgate. It is stuck and poses a significant safety issue.

Unknown, I was driving and the vehicle completely died without warning. And then on several occasions I've been driving and it would say crash mitigation system problem. Where my guages would go out and throw my vehicle into neutral along with my steering wheel to lock up.

My car has stalled on multiple occasions when the auto-idle feature is engaged. A message on the dashboard flashes stating ‘collision mitigation system’ and then the car just stalls and the battery light comes on. Typically this requires turning the car off and turning back on to begin driving.

Rear hatch on our Odyssey EX-L started giving a "Power Tailgate Problem", and it would not open at all except by mechanically releasing the hatch from the emergency access panel. I replaced the rear hatch control module and the hatch could now again be opened from the outside as normal, but the power tailgate still did not function up and down, and requires manual lifting open and pushing closed.

Vehicle has roughly 32,000 miles. KEY SAFETY ISSUES [with vehicle parked, engine off and doors closed] (1) vehicle randomly and without warning locks driver out (cannot open car with key fob by pressing unlock button, cannot open car manually by entering key into door). Had to call AAA on 4 different occasions to pry open door with specialty tools.

While driving multiple system failure- warning lights then failure of: blind spot alert, lane departure, back up camera, wipers, tailgate function. When able to stop, power locks did not function. Inability to access rear of car via sliding doors would pose serious risk if accident occurred due to system failure.

GOODMORNING, I bought my car honda Odyssey 2018 model, on August 20th, 2018, from Honda of Clearlake, in League City, TX, the day they opened new location, this car has been giving us trouble since then. when under warranty the sunroof motor became faulty. I agree that they repaired it but took more than a week to get repaired.

I have an 2018 Odyssey Touring that apparently has a problem with the auto-idle stop while driving at slow speeds, many times (2 to 6 times a day) for a few weeks now. It starts with a weird noise (like a loud record scratch) through the speakers, then engine turns off, dash and radio shuts off too and immediately everything turns on again. Car don’t go to park, it stays on drive mode.

It is very common for the vehicle model to experience water intrusion toward the back lift gate because of rain. This can cause electric problems with the vehicle that can result in property damage or death. Airbags may not deploy due to water damage as well.

Vehicle keeps turning on accessory mode uncommanded. Resulting in draining battery. Battery is then recharged and process starts over again.

Vehicle was off in a parked state in my driveway. The electrical harness for the horn malfunctioned and the horn was audible for about 4 minutes. During which, the fuse for the horn was removed, though the horn did not stop being audible.

We came home from the movie theater (which was only 5 miles away) and parked our car in the our driveway. When my husband turned off the car, we immediately smelled something burning. We see smoke coming up from the hood of the car.

The car has 27,000 miles on it. The engine mount is being replaced due to it being bad, the radio is very delayed and crashes and the sliding door keeps sticking and I have to force it closed.

From the day I bought my car the brakes have squealed when applying them at a low rate of speed. There have been multiple times I have tried to accelerate and the gas took an extended time to work. Once I was trying to switch lanes and when I accelerated the van didn't go any faster and I almost caused an accident.

The vehicle completely shuts down and off intermittently when the auto idle stop function is engaged. This happens when we are in traffic on a highway and streets or at stop signs and stopping briefly and and the vehicle goes into park and must be re-started by pressing the "on/off" button. It is very scary and dangerous.

At random times either stationary or moving, the audio multi function unit will lock up and disable various features of the car including security systems and climate control. I have taken this vehicle to the dealer and they state that there is no fix for it and that I should turn it off and back on to try to reset it. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't.

On 30 dec 2018 as my family and I drove through osceola county, florida, our odyssey displayed an error message that read, "some driver assist systems cannot operate: radar obstructed." the temperature was around 70 deg f and it was moderately foggy. The message cleared itself after 20-30 minutes and the driver assist systems came back online.

) fuel efficiency is not as reported; it is several mpgs lower under all conditions (highway/city). 2.) safety sensor to alert for pedestrians on sides/front do not work properly. Even service rep at dealership said she has had other reports of it not functioning properly and the sensors/system may need to be 'reset'.

On saturday, 1/27/18 at 9:17am mountain time we were driving in a residential neighborhood following a silver SUV. As we approach an intersection with a green light, the SUV in front of us turned on their blinker to slow down to make a right turn. We were following behind at a safe distance.

Defective body seam on roof panel over drivers side rear wheel - resulting water leak on control panel for power liftgate caused the rear tailgate to continually open and close while driving. The vehicle was parked and the fuses controlling the tailgate were removed to enable the closure of the hatch and allow vehicle operation.

The tailgate module has been fixed three times by Honda, along with the tailgate being resealed by honda, however, the car continues to leak water through a seal in the drivers side upper rarea.

The car has stalling problems and low power problem (changed 3 batteries in 5 years), took to dealership first time and they could not confirmed what's wrong. The problem became worse and stalled a few times, took to local shop and code p2638 torque management feedback signal came back, indicating problem with transmission or TCU.

The Tailgate Control Module (TCM) was infiltrated with water due to a crack in the seam on the rear driver side panel. This caused the tailgate to be unusable and no longer latch as a result of no power to the tailgate latch. The TCM (Part #: 74970-THR-A12) had to be replaced as well as all seams needed to be sealed.

The seam seals on the rear driver's quarter panel of the vehicle are faulty and allowed water to flow into the cabin of the vehicle. The resulting damage was loss of function to the rear power lift gate, front seats, remote start and other key fob functions, as well as a dead battery(assumedly due to arcing on wet circuitry).

Vehicle stalls when pulling out into traffic! Terrifying with my 6 kids and I'm immediately getting rid of this vehicle. Tried to have the fuel pump (current recall) replaced but Honda dealership has the vehicle for 6 DAYS!

The power tailgate control module failed due to water leaking through holes in the seam. The power tailgate problem light came on when the issues began. I was unable to open the tailgate using the button by the driver's controls, the remote fob, or the exterior button on the tailgate.

When the vehicle’s auto start-stop feature is active, the feature will malfunction causing the engine to not start properly. Instead, the vehicle stalls and must be restarted manually. However, there are many occasions when the vehicle does not start manually either.

On 2 occasions, the "Auto Engine Idle Stop" has caused my vehicle to completely die while stopped at a stop light. The car did not start, leaving me stalled in active traffic. Eventually the car reset itself and I was able to restart the car.

The battery died after sitting still for 2.5 hours on the inserstate. (A tractor trailer had jackknifed stalling traffic). The van had been turned off after 20 mins.

Keep getting error message that my care has lost power between driving and the anti theft on the radio displays. Dealership hasn't been able to reproduce this issue even though I have photos of it happening 15 + times it has happens since the van was a few weeks old

While I was driving this morning, on a side city street, and took a speed bump, the electrical system cut out entirely. I lost power to my speedometer and my entire infotainment system. When I stopped the car, got out, then got back in, the speedometer came back, but the infotainment system continued to be out.

My 2018 honda odyssey has only 3295 miles , I am getting message on display anti theft system lost power . The message displayed 4 times in last three months. Sometimes it is scared to drive the van.

Horn on 2018 honda odyssey (elite & touring trim levels) for sure. Horn is a single tone low note and is barely noticeable and woefully inadequate. Yesterday while traveling on a not very busy country road, I activated horn at about a dozen buzzards feasting on some roadkill in the roadway and had to come to an almost complete stop before they moved.

Since I own this vehicle, 3 times tailgate failed. I have done repair it twice in Honda dealership at Paramus NJ. Now it happened again after a year of last fix.

The Tailgate Control Module failed due to water getting in to it from normal rain. There seems to be a leak in the seam and caused the failure. I took it to the shop and confirmed the failure, purchased a new control module and replaced the faulty one.

The Infotainment Display has been malfunctioning. The display goes black and the back-up camera is not available. On the night of December 12, 2025, we were driving the car on the highway and the screen flickered in and out and then went black and so did the dashboard display.

Windshield monocular camera overheated. No longer working.

FAILED MONOCULAR CAMERA : It is a very common issue across majority of HONDA ODYSSEY. It's the overheating of the camera and start to malfunction, causing all the warning systems lights to illuminate. A lots of people and families who have owned or currently owns HONDA ODYSSEYS minivans have either faced this problem in the past or having it more commonly now.

The camera started malfunctioning and now I have a bunch of warning lights on the dash. I think is crazy that a lot of people have the same issue and still there is no recalls for it. Is a MAJOR safety issue.

Water intrusion, verified by observation/application of water. The leak resulted in water dripping on the Tailgate/Liftgate Control Module and the general rear cargo area, causing corrosion inside the control module rendering the control module inoperable, which made the power liftgate inoperable as well.

The vehicle body weather seal did not function water was leaked into the rear trunk of the vehicle, resulting in water damaged carpet/ foam and malfunctioning/ broken power liftgate control module for the rear hatch. The control module was found to be corroded resulting in a nonfunctional rear hatch.

the sensor/computer/camera on the windshield overheats and causes it to fail mines at 100,000 and its a $1600 repair dealer said because the windshield sits in sun while driving etc and the sensor overheats and melts the inside of the computer soldering. unacceptable so much for my safety features all gone I dont have the money to replace

Crack in body seam above driver and passenger side of the tailgate AND underneath the roof rail cover caused water leakage. This resulted in a short of the power tailgate control module which draws down my battery and causes unexpected trunk closing during normal use. Family members have been hit in the head by the trunk due to the unexpected automatic emergency closing.

Defect-Linked Electrical Failures and Refusal of Support – 2018 Honda Odyssey I am filing a formal complaint regarding Honda’s refusal to cover a known, dangerous defect in my 2018 Honda Odyssey (VIN: [XXX] ).

The power liftgate stopped working so the rear door won’t latch. We had to drive home with it closed but not latched and beeping the whole way. I believe water has leaked into the control unit from the roof.

The automatic tail gate stopped working. When I went to replace the tailgate control module I found out that it was damaged due to water that leaked into the rear driver side cabin area. After doing some research to figure out the problem, I found that there where many others that have had the same problems on the same year, make and model as mine.

My tailgate stopped working, I was getting messages on my dash board that there was transmission system problems, reverse warning problems, keyless entry system problems. It always seemed to happen after a rain. I found that the van is leaking water through the driver’s side roof rack gully, near the back, and water is leaking right on the tailgate control system, causing all these other problems.

Auto engine stop feature shuts off the vehicle when engaged. When the vehicle comes to a complete stop at a light or in heavy traffic, the auto engine stop feature will engage but the engine will not restart. The only way to restart the engine is to shutoff the vehicle, open and close the drivers door, then restart the car.

During rain and snow storms I will get warning lights that the power tailgate isn’t working. Last year when I took it into the dealer they said the tailgate would open and close randomly and there was water in the rear fuse box. I thought I fixed the issue by replacing all the wires from the rear all the way to the front.

Improper seal on exterior driver side roof near trunk lift gate. Allows water inside during heavy rain or when going through a car wash and the water damages the control module for the power tailgate. Damage to the control module cuts off any use of the tailgate, even manually.

The power tailgate opened by itself while I was driving on high way at around 60mph. Later it stopped working/won't open and the car battery died as well. My car has had all recommended service completed by the dealership since I purchased my Honda Odyssey in 2018. On 2/18/25, my power liftgate started malfunctioning. An error message beeps inside my car 4 times, every 4 seconds and cannot be manually turned off.

Infortainment center shuts down and loses connection. Which means there is no communication with the backup camera or navigation. Popping noises from the front speakers start static and pop then the screen states connection lost then goes black.

Just purchased a 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite and as soon as I turned on the sound to listen to music for carplay /bluetooth/stereo all methods of sound it started making loud crackling sounds and starts going intermittent with sound cutting out. The tailgate malfunctions and the car does not register the tailgate as closed even if it is closed. The power tailgate ceases to be operational and the locks do not work. The cause is a defect in a seam which allows rain water to reach the control unit for the tailgate.

Failure of the Front windshield mounted monocular camera from overheating causes all advanced driver assistance systems to shut down such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, etc. This is a very common occurrence in not just the Honda Odyssey, but other Honda models as well. A new part can be anywhere from one to two thousand requiring dealer calibration.

There is a water leak in the body of the van (where the top and side are welded together). The water has caused damage to the electrical panel that controls the back door/liftgate. The water damage is also shorting out and causing electrical damage and the battery to die very often.

the right sliding door has had intermittent malfunction for years. often, the door will not work with an automatic function and must be pulled open or closed manually which is nearly impossible to accomplish. most often the right sliding door malfunction notification appears when driving at highway speeds which is extremely unsafe.

Initial issue was that the power tailgate would not open at all. Took the vehicle to the dealership where they replaced the latch and the control unit that was completely fried. When I asked what could cause that, they said they didn't know.

There is water leaking through the seams of my Van from where it wasn't welded and sealed properly, My tailgate opened on the highway today while I had my 7 kids in the vehicle while it was pouring down rain. I could not get my tailgate to stay closed and keep getting a power tailgate problem on my dashboard.

Water leaks into tailgate control module causing tailgate not to work. Replaced module, problem came back after 3 weeks. This is a common issue for the current generation Odyssey.

It is available for inspection on request. Lost blindspot info, lost use of turn indicators, rear door hatch malfunction, several warnings flash up while driving. I was in a busy area and didn't have a way to signal my movements, screen flashing warnings was terrifying, the van felt like it might turn off at any moment.

Right Power door will not open or close with buttons or key fob. Must open/close manually. The doors are too hard to open manually for smaller children and even some adults making it a safety concern in case of emergency.

Our 2018 Honda Odyssey has the defect described in this recall: [XXX] However, the VIN search says that it is not eligible. This defect causes all of the vehicle's electronic safety systems to malfunction. Occasionally it will not start at all.

A water leak above the tailgate control module flooded it to the point that it operated erratically and would raise and lower the tailgate randomly or not work at all. I plan on replacing the module myself but will retain the old one. Anytime the entry or exit points on a vehicle open randomly cannot be a safe condition.

There is an electrical drain causing the battery to drain to the point where it will not start. Alternator was replaced, then the issue persisted. Most recent problem include the power tailgate opening on its own.

Rear tail gate will not open even manually due to water getting inside of control module due to faulty design which causes water to go into the module and fry it would open and close randomly when it would rain now it has stopped working all together no indicator on dash anymore I guess this last rain finished it off terrible design very disappointing with Honda this is a major issue that needs to be fixed

Power tail gate doesnt work. Water got into the car and leaked onto the power tail gate control circuit causing it to no longer work.

Van started having a loud clicking sound and radio would not work. took it in for repair, they said they fixed it. Took it in again because it actually got worse and the screen was rebooting and showing a error.

A defective/leaking seal in the rear of the vehicle area caused water damage and corrosion on the tailgate control unit. As a result of the control unit failure the blinkers and lights stopped working while driving. In addition rear tailgate does not open.

The vehicle had low voltage indications and electrical issues that would affect many of the electrical systems in the car (power doors, main entertainment system, etc). More concerning, the vehicle would shift into park while driving and then would shut off. This posed a serious hazard when driving quickly.

2018 Honda Odyssey motorized tailgate has completely stopped working. Will not open. Numerous accounts say this is due to water getting into the rear tailgate control module and have had tremendous amount of rain this week.

The vehicle has multiple warning lights and a recall was issued for the MOST connectors upon the initial problem which fixed it temporarily and now it continues to have multiple problems. Tailgate controller issue. 2018 Honda Odyssey: A day after a day of rain, we went out shopping and stopped at a store. Getting out , we saw "Tailgate Controller Problem" message appear on the dashboard.

Every time when it rains, the power tail gate fails showing beeping noise from the rear and on the screen and unable to lock the doors. Had to replace the power tail module couple of times so far and still problem persists. The Honda dealership mentioned there was a leak, repaired and replaced the module , inspite of the fix priblem still persists when it rains.

I had the MOST recall repair a couple weeks ago, but my backup camera still cuts out and says CHECK TUNER. This does cause a temporary visibility issue when switching to mirrors.

After rainfall water is leaking into the rear fuse box compartment located behind the 3rd row seats and causing the tailgate control module and other parts to fail. Vehicle was taken into Honda dealer due to trunk not opening and closing properly & receiving “Power Tailgate Failure” warning and rear entertainment system not working. After many hours, I was told the power tailgate control unit and floor wire harness would need replaced due to corosion from water damage ??? This was at 42,653 miles!!

Our 2018 Honda Odyssey has randomly failed to start three times. No warning no advance warning messages or alerts. These appeared once after being parked overnight and twice immediately after being driven a short distance.

I have 2018 Odyssey EXL . on instrument display got message "Power Tailgate Issue". The tailgate can not open either by control button or manually.

Just bought the car used with 60240 mi at the end of March on a Friday. 30 minutes after leaving the dealership the Auto Idle Stop warning notice appeared on the dash stating this feature was unavailable. It would not engage when idle at a light and as a result, when the gas was pressed to accelerate the car would hesitate and jerk into gear.

Electrical issues with camera, screen & infotainment system. Terrible crackling noise coming from stereo system. Screen randomly goes black for prolonged periods of time.

This issue been going on for a while now. I Have taking it to the dealer for issue. They said was the battery I replace the battery.

Both the dashboard and the computer shut down randomly, different warning signs pop up intermittently and the wheel locks up for a short time. It happens while driving at unpredictable times. It happened on the highway at the speed of 65 MPH.

Anytime the temperature is below freezing (32F), the infotainment system fails to boot. This prevents us from properly defrosting windows for visibility, or using the rear-view camera while backing, or accessing many of the other features of the vehicle that are controlled by the infotainment unit.

In lower gears, there is hesitation when accelerating which causes driver to unknowing lurch forward. Sometimes peeling out. In stop and go traffic, the van does not accelerate for a few seconds when gas pedal is pressed.

After leasing our car for less than 1 year - the power liftgate malfunctioned (which coincidentally there had been a recall in the past on our honda odyssey 2009 for appears to be the exact same issue.) It seems to be exactly the same thing happening again with the 2018 model we have now. So that the trunk won't open by itself.

Car started showing all kind of errors before the milleage waranty went out, one day when car was started, we saw the following errors scroll through the dash: Road Departure mitigation system problem Power Steering System EPS problem VSA Vehicle stability assist problem Hill start assist problem Brake system error Brake Hold system problem Brake system problem I have taken the car in for these issues 3 times at a local dealership and nothing was found as a reason for the issue, they just "rolled" the errors to clear them and that seems to work for a few months.

Vehicle leaking water on backside and is causing electric issues. One of the issue is rear lift gate malfunctioning. The hatching opening on its own etc which is a safety risk.The dealer repaired this under warranty and they issue came back again almost four times so far.

Upon opening vehicle using remote control (sliding doors or tailgate), the drivers door will not unlatch or unlock. No matter what you do, you can not open this door from the outside. Only way to open it is to go in via the passenger side of the vehicle and manual release the door.

The issues started while still under warranty. It started with the entertainment system crackling and cutting out. Then the car would not start or would rough start and I was told the battery has a bad cell (now 1200 miles out of warranty) and needs to be replaced.

Vehicle requires a jump start at least once a day in the course of normal use, no lights left on, no doors left open, no use of accessories without the car running. We will drive the car somewhere, be there for any length of time from 5-10 minutes at a gas pump to a few hours at a family members hour or a few days on a camping trip.

When we start the engine all the errors come up saying that the vhs failed, the electronics stability failed, brake system failed and all the other components. We have purchased 2 odyssey and they both have that problems. When we called honda they told us to repair it as it was our fault.

When I got into the car, I had just started the car up and there were warning lights for the blind spot information system not working; other things that weren't working were the heated seats or the rear climate controls. Later that day, the backup camera screen was black. This is unacceptable for my 2018 touring that is almost 50k!

Cabin watch screen goes black and shows error "camera system problem image cannot be displayed". This occurs while in use traveling. Continues to happen intermittently.

We have been having issues with our driver side door since it was 6 months old they have fixed it twice now including the recall a few months ago, and it is back to not closing. The first time they fixed it when we were waiting on parts the door got totally suck closed and could not be opened any way. This is becoming a safety issue.

Car was powered off on level ground, no lights, radio, nothing was turned on in car. No sensors displayed in dashboard, no sounds from car. Hatch was left opened for 2 days for an event.

Beginning at 10,077 miles my vehicle began experiencing defect symptoms with failures of its central control panel touch screen/display. Multiple vehicle functions and features are controlled and displayed through the touch screen. Many failures have been documented with video and in the presence of qualified honda service personnel.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda odyssey. When the contact pressed the remote key to unlock the doors, the windows and sun roof would erroneously open. In addition, the alarm would randomly activate on occasion and, after turning off the vehicle, the interior lighting would remain illuminated.

Crakling sound on dash from side to side, noisy and stronger by the weeks. Took ca to the dealer with 12k miles; three attempts were made. Honda service replaced the audio system, next attempts they said it was my iphone cable.

Upon proceeding through an intersection the van began to automatically break to a complete stop from approximately 30-35mph, screeching tires, then shutting completely off. The entire dashboard cluster was dark as was the computer display for the radio/other controls. Looking down the "park" indicator was lit red.

I was out of state on vacation. While driving my car in the city, a 2018 honda odyssey exl purchased oct. 2017 with only 6000 miles, the engine light came on and I got an emissions warning notice that I needed to get the emissions system checked.

Entire dash turned off while driving including speedometer and information screen-replaced radiohead. All warning lights came on while driving-replaced fuel injectors. Popcorn sound and warning light came on while driving after picking up car from getting fuel injectors replaced-stating it's a bad rear entertainment system.

In the summer the backup camera will occasionally stop working and the message "camera too hot" will appear on the information screen. Honda states this is normal operation. I believe this is a safety hazard that honda should resolve.

A humming or bass sound at different speeds in motion, bbmmmmm bbmmmm noise also a humming and static from the radio when vehicle is off and sitting still off and on at different intervals, some days you have it and others you don't.

Driver door does not unlock. The automatic unlock beeps like it is working, but does not unlock the door. I have to crawl into the back and then I can unlock driver door internally.

Touring-rear entertainment system shuts off to black screen and cabin watch loses signal and gives an error code. While driving long distances, the kids can only watch the first 30 minutes of their dvd before the system seems to overheat and completely shutdown.

Sliding doors will not close. Sometimes the door will close almost to the end and then recoil or the door will not close at all (it just beeps). A large number of people appear to be having this issue with all sorts of fixes that are not solving the problem () and appears related to nhsta complaint number 10136418.

On march 24, my 2018 honda odyssey shifted into park at 65 MPH on I-95 in philadelphia. The honda rep, oliver (a honda employee), explained to my husband that when the computer in the car connected to the collusion avoidance sensor disconnects, a computer assumes the car is off and that forces the car into park regardless of the speed it is going.

Sometimes, the driver side, read door would not close with button, instead I have to hard push the door to close it manually. It happens with both key and "close" button inside the car. This is happening periodically.

On june 3rd my 4 yr old daughter was securely restrained in her britax clightight 5 point harness in the seat behind the driver in the middle row. We were parked in a parking lot after a grocery trip and I was getting ready to return home after shopping. I put her in the car and closed the door of the van.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda odyssey. While stationary, the vehicle would not turn off when prompted. On more than one occasion, all of the doors failed to open when prompted by the key fob.

I am older and I believe the turn signal volume is too low especially due to road noise. This is the only car I drive where it is difficult to hesr the turn signals. Honda cannot fix the volume..

The center console, which is the monitor that utilizes GPS navigation, rear view camera display, controls heat/AC, volume control, etc. Has continued to fail since date of purchase (7/15/17). The monitor shuts down at random times, for unidentified reasons, leaving the driver, distracted and attempting to resolve.

Headlights: when the van was purchased I discovered several days later that the drivers side headlight was not working. Discovered the lights was not plugged in. December 18 & 27 the anti-theft system disabled.

My computer screen that has my radio and backup camera will black out randomly while I’m driving. There are times I can’t use it for a backup camera because it won’t cut on. I’m not able to control my heat and a/c when it goes blank too.

The infotainment center has completely failed. It began with sporadic shutting off and then restarting of the infotainment system as if a wire or connector were loose, along with popping sounds until the unit no longer turns on and appears to have completely failed. This effects ability of back up camera to function because the screen no longer works.

The media touch screen display periodically goes blank and reboots during driving, which affects the backup camera, defrost control, and every other component controlled on the touchscreen display.

D passenger side, rear electric door get stuck a lot of times and open by itself. When you close it , it goes all the way till get close to the end then open as it there is something it try not to close on . This being going for the last 2 to 3 years.

The circuit board for the module that controls the power lift gate is damaged from water. Water seeps in the roof rail and wets the panel causing the the power tailgate to lock shut and unable to be opened.

Went to leave my house at 8pm and the car was malfunctioning. Blind spot problem, parking sensor problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto engine idle stop problem . Lights flickering on and off, console lights not working, can’t control heating speed.

Did not control Engine up and down fuel nt work.

Tailgate warning beeps. Tailgare Will NOT open or Close. Dashboard lites flash.

Rear tailgate is inoperable because of water damage. The rear driver side seatbelt is wet, the floor of the trunk is wet, the water damaged the control module for the rear tailgate, it does not open.

The lane keep assist function via the monocam behind the windshield has failed causing an alert to show up a few minutes into driving that none of the systems related to it are functional. This appears to be a widespread problem amongst owners of the 2018 Odyssey.

Power tailgate issue continues to happen. The module is somehow getting water damage and shorting out. This is the second time in a year that I have to replace the module.

Water getting into rear liftgate control module. Had to replace seal and module.

Rear tail gate hatch Anytime it rains the hatch will open and faults out which ultimately causing it to not close or open tailgate fault shows up on the dash and does not function anymore do to water collecting in electrical module that controls hatch due to faulty design

ADAS system is not working due to internal camera failure.

For the last 3 months the car will turn on by itself and drain the battery. Went to several mechanics that could not find a reason for this issue. This weekend, while I was driving on the road, the car stopped while driving on the highway.

While the van was in motion, the power tailgate unlocked and opened on its own. The dashboard displayed tailgate open warning message. I slowed down and the lock re-engaged to to close the tailgate.

several times when stopped at a light, the vehicle's auto idle engine engages and shuts the car off. When the brake has been released, the vehicle has failed to start.

Car was parked at home. Entered car to get something, noticed car smelled of faint smoke. didn't think much of it.

I was driving on the freeway at 60mph and the all dashboard notification lights started flickering (lane departure warning, odometer, blind spot warning, etc) and the car went from drive to neutral. This occurred twice while I was on the freeway on 6/6/22. This has also occurred twice before.

The infotainment screen went dark during the trip causing loss of navigation guidance, loss of safety features such as back up camera and rear cross traffic warning. It caused loss of climate control as well as every single option related to and/or activated via infotainment display (WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth function, Navigation, etc..)

Driving at low speed about 25MPH, the dashboard where the speedometer and odometer is located went completely black for about 10 seconds.

Ssince the computer was updated, the gas needle is wrong. It may show full when you fill gas tank, but less than 25 miles needle will drop down approx.1/8 below full and when you fill up. Gas needle will be below 1/2 full and it will only take approx.

Vehicle is not shifting at all, doesn't go right away when pedal is pressed, park, drive, reverse buttons flash on dashboard when car is on. All sensor lights come on with issues.

2 different times I have come to a stop at at stop light and when I go to start again the car turns off and goes into park. Luckily it has happened at no speed but very terrifying to think you are in drive the car shuts off and you are in park.

The pinch sensor keeps breaking which then causes the door panel to separate and the window to detach from the vehicle. This is not the first time since we bought it that this has happened.

Bought new in oct 2018. Has 39,000 mostly highway miles on van now. Feb 17, 2020 - vehicle was stationary in my driveway.

The rear camera system has 'camera system failure' error. Anytime the car is put in reverse, instead of the rear camera visibility, the screen goes black with an error message of camera system failure.

Electrical issues: after driving vehicle for 2 ' 5 minutes, entertainment system, rear entertainment screen and parking sensors stop working. The speakers make loud popping sound that will not go away even when you try to power off radio/entertainment system. Turning the vehicle off was the only way to stop the sound.

My backup camera does not function or cannot be viewed due to error messages, system freezing, camera errors which is unsafe. The radio is effected and the HVAC controls, too. This happens randomly while driving, when starting the car as well.

While driving on i65 the driver's screen that displays speed, rpms, fuel gauge, etc went completely black for approximately 30 seconds.

The rearview camera isn't functioning. The infotainment screen will not shut off when the vehicle is turned off, and the rearview camera is never displayed when the car is in reverse.

Entertainment system malfunctions constantly. Center console displays message: 'camera system problem. Image cannot be displayed.' this will happen randomly while the car is on whether I'm driving or not.

When closing the power sliding door, it reverses direction.

Cabin watch malfunctions and turns off, when that occurs the rear entertainment system freezes and stays on even when the car has been turned off. I needed a new battery just a week after purchasing the vehicle. Now I know to turn the screen up when the cabin watch malfunctions so that my battery does not drain.

As I put the vehicle in reverse, an error message appears "camera system failure" and the backup camera does not work.

Failure of the rear entertainment system: the rear camera and entertainment system will lost "network connectivity" and stop functioning 2. Brake mitigation system: spontaneously turns on 3. Failure of the infotainment system: the infotainment system will turn off and go into a series of failures, ultimately turning off completely and not functioning.

When the fob is stored near the vehicle it creates a power drain on the battery. We were camping for the weekend and the fob was generally near the vehicle (in the camper). When we left the campground at the end of the weekend, the warning indicator said not to use any auxiliary power.
