Despite regular service visits at the dealership where you purchased the vehicle, neither the dealer nor Honda informed you about any recall or warranty coverage for this paint issue.

I had my paint recall fixed on my 2010 Honda Civic at a local Honda dealership. They had it for 4 weeks without any loaner car, and now the paint in peeling off my car. The body doesn’t seem to be put back together correctly. The rubber were the body fits together is coming apart.
UNKNOWN The paint on the top of the car and the trunk has peeled off and creates condition for rusting of the metal parts. This in time jeopardies the structural integrity of the car especially in accidents. I have see description of number of Honda Civics with this problem.

CLEAR COAT IS MOTTLED AND PEELING FROM ROOF AND TRUNK. PAINT UNDERNEATH IS DULL AND OXIDIZED.
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2015 AND WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR PAINT BEGAN TO COMING OFF THE ENTIRE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. I ASKED THE BUSINESS THAT I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND WAS TOLD TO GET A PAINT JOB. I JUST DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I WAS A SENIOR OF 65 YEARS OLD AND DID NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION.

YHE WEATHERPROOFING STRIPS OF ALL MY WINDOWS ARE MELTING AND COMING OFF. ONE ALREADY DID. I DONT LIVE IN A VERY HOT CITY. IM AFRAID IT WILL ALLOW WATER TO LEAK IN DOOR AND GET TO ELECTRONICS AND MESS UP WINDOW FUNCTION. IF WINDOW GOES OUT YOU WOULDNT BE ABLE TO ROLL WINDOW DOWN IF AN EMERGENCY ARISES WHICH WOULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. AN A RANK IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
THE PAINT BEGAN TO FAIL AND I CONTACTED HONDA'S WEBSITE AS DIRECTED TO FIND ALL ISSUES (RECALL AND TSB - TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS) AND THERE WERE NO ITEMS. FROM 2015 ON WE WOULD CHECK. THEN I FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT SAID IT WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED PAINT WARRANTY. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY DECLINED TO FIX IT SAYING THAT I PURCHASED IT USED. THEY GAVE ME A $7000 QUOTE TO FIX THE CAR. THEY SAID BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED, THEY DID NOT HAVE TO CONTACT ME. THE ENTIRE CAR HAS CLEARCOAT FAILURE LEADING TO PAINT FAILURE. THE CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED REGULARLY, GARAGE KEPT AND WASHED / WAXED PER RECOMMENDATIONS. THE EXPERTS AND HONDA HAVE SAID THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING FAILURE BUT THEY DID NOT FEEL THAT THEY HAD TO TELL ALL OWNERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR HOUSING DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE, STRUCK THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW, AND SHATTERED BOTH THE MIRROR HOUSING AND WINDOW. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF AN IMPACT OR A FOREIGN OBJECT THAT CAUSED THE MIRROR HOUSING TO DETACH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS NO INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN RAINS, WATER LEAKS INTO INTERIOR. BOTH BACK SEATS GET WET & IN A TRUCK GETS PUDDLES OF WATER. THE WIRING GETS WET, WHICH IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF SAFETY ISSUES. PLEASE, LET ME KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WE HAVE THIS ISSUE SINCE 2013, THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THE CAR WAS CERTIFIED BUT DEALERSHIPS REJECTED TO FIX IT.

CLEAR COAT FAILED ALLOWING PAINT TO BE EXPOSED. PAINT IS NOW DETERIORATING, EVENTUALLY LEADING TO RUST. EXTENSIVE FAILURE ON ROOF, TRUNK AND FRONT FENDER.
THE PAINT IS COMING OFF THE TRUNK OF THE CAR IN CIRCULAR PATCHES. THERE ARE ALSO NUMEROUS SPOTS ON THE FRONT HOOD WHERE THE PAINT IS FADING. BACK IN THE DAY YOUR CAR WOULD RUST BEFORE THE PAINT JOB WOULD GO BAD! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE APPEARANCE OF MY CAR.

ALSO , IF I HAD NOT EXPLORED THIS ON MY OWN, EACH OF THE PRIOR YRS; I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE REPAIRS DONE,AS HONDA DID NOT INFORM ME OF RECALLS AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS NOT UP FRONT WITH THIS CONTINUED PROBLEM. MY CAR NOW HAS FADING,DAMAGE TO HOOD WHICH IS SPREADING,,RT PASSENGER DOOR, SIDE PANELS, MY CAR LOOKS OLD,DAMAGED. NOW IF I WANT THIS FIXED I AM ON MY OWN. HONDA HASN'T OFFERED ANY HELP. MULTIPLE PANELS HAVE BEEN REPAINTED ON THIS CAR DUE TO FAULTY CLEARCOAT. THE LAST PANEL HAS FAILED, AND HONDA HAS ONLY OFFERED TO PAY FOR 50% OF THE REPAIRS. THIS IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT, THAT HONDA HOPES TO SHIFT TO THE CONSUMER OF THEIR VEHICLES.
I AM HAVING A ON-GOING ISSUE WITH PAINT PEELING FROM MY VEHICLE. VANN YORK HONDA PAINTED SOME AREAS ON VEHICLE WHERE PAINT WAS PEELING IN 2014, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER RESOLVED BECAUSE THE PAINT CONTINUES TO PEEL FROM MY VEHICLE. NOW VANN YORK IS SAYING THAT I HAVE TO PAY 30% TOWARDS REPAIRS, I OFFERED FOR THEM TO WAIVE MY 30% OF REPAIR COST DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM WITH PAINT PEELING FROM MY VEHICLE WAS NEVER RESOLVED.
ABNORMAL CRACKED AND PEELING PAINT ON THE HOOD, ROOF AND TRUNK. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUED AN EXTENSION BUT HAS NEVER PROVIDED A NOTIFICATION TO OWNERS AFFECTED BY THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I AM NOW ONE YEAR PAST DUE AND ONLY FOUND OUT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WHEN MY LOCAL BODY SHOP ADVISED ME TO CALL.

DEALER STATED THERE WAS A "WARRANTY EXTENSION" FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THAT IT EXPIRED 7 MONTHS AGO. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS, IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE? A QUICK GOOGLE CHECK SHOWS THAT PAINT ISSUES ARE A HUGE PROBLEM FOR HONDA.
THE PAINT HAS BEEN PEELING OFF THE HOOD,TRUNK AND ROOF OF CAR PROGRESSIVELY FOR PAST FEW YEARS. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER HONDA CIVICS WITH SIMILAR ISSUE AND VERY SURPRISED THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS.
LARGE BLOTCHES OF OXIDIZED PAINT ON ROOF & TRUNK THAT IS PROGRESSING RAPIDLY. MY WIFE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHO INITIALLY SAID THAT THEY WOULD "TAKE CARE OF IT". WHEN SHE RETURNED LATER, A MANAGER TOLD HER THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1,300 TO HAVE IT REPAINTED. I WAS VERY ALARMED TO FIND MANY CONSUMERS ON THE WEB WITH THE IDENTICAL ISSUE.
SEVERAL AREAS OF THE VEHICLE HAVE BEGUN TO HAVE PAINT CRACK AND PEEL, INCLUDING THE HOOD, ROOF, TRUNK AND QUARTER PANELS. HONDA HAS ADMITTED THIS WAS A DEFECT, BUT YOU ONLY HAD 7 YRS FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE TO FILE A CLAIM WHICH I WAS UNAWARE UNTIL AFTER THIS DEADLINE.
THERE,S A DEFECT IN THE-PAINT THAT WAS USED ON THE CAR BY THE MANUFACTER. THE PAINT IS COMING OFF THE ROOF OF THE CAR AND AROUND THE BACK WINDSHIELD. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE PAINT HAS FADED IN THOSE PLACES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE BODY SHOP AND THEY HAVE ME ADVISED ME THAT THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE PAINT THAT THE MANUFACTER USED ON THE HONDA CIVIC 2010 MODELS.. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE MANUFACTER TO RE-PAINT MY CAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

THEY WILL NEED 3 WEEKS TO TAKE CARE OF IT AND WILL NOT PAY FOR A LOANER. THEY HAD MY CAR A MONTH AGO FOR SERVICE AND DID NOT DO A WALK AROUND WHICH WOULD HAVE HOPEFULLY CAUGHT THE PROBLEM WHILE IT WAS STILL COVERED. I AM SO UPSET WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR MISSING SUCH A BIG THING!

THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE CRACKED AND THE SEAM, CAUSING PIECES TO FALL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. THE VISOR NO LONGER REMAINS IN THE PROPER POSITION WHEN NOT IN USE AND OBSCURES VISION, PARTICULARLY AT NIGHT.

THE MOTOR MOUNT ON MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 45,000 MILES. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE HONDA FORUMS REVEALED MANY OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, SOME OF WHOM HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR MOTOR MOUNT MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS WOULD APPEAR TO BE A KNOWN WEAKNESS IN THE DESIGN WHICH HONDA IS NOT ADDRESSING FOR OWNERS.
THE MOTOR MOUNT SHOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED REPLACED AT 62,409 MILES. IT VIBRATES VERY BAD WHEN IN REVERSE AND MAKES THIS UNGODLY NOISE. *TR

THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT IS WEAR N' TEAR BUT IF YOU WERE TO LOOK UP HOW LONG A PAINT JOB IS SUPPOSE TO LAST...SHOULD BE 10+ YEARS IF PROPERLY DONE. MY FRIEND AND I PUT OUR PURSES IN THE TRUNK OF MY HONDA CIVIC 2010 AT A BUSY RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. HONDA HAS AN INTERIOR VALET KEY HOLE TO LOCK THE TRUNK; SO I FEEL SAFE TO LEAVE MY THINGS IN THE TRUNK. THIS KEY HOLE IS AT THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. SOMEONE BROKE THE DRIVER'S WINDOW AND OPENED THE TRUNK WITH THE VALET TRUNK LATCH LOCKED. I HAVE THE TRUNK ALWAYS VALET KEY LOCKED; SO I WAS SURPRISED SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO POP THE TRUNK. I TOOK MY CAR TO A BODY SHOP PLACE. HE EASILY DISCOVERED THAT A PLASTIC COVER THAT IS AROUND THE VALET TRUNK KEY LOCK CAN BE REMOVED AND A SMALL LATCH CAN BE MOVED TO THE LEFT AND THE TRUNK OPENS. HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE. HE SAID. "I CAN'T TRUST MY THINGS IN THE TRUNK WITH A VALET PERSON, AFTER THIS DISCOVERY." I WAS SHOCKED. I BUY HONDA'S BECAUSE I LIKE THIS FEATURE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS BECAUSE MY IDENTITY WAS STOLEN. THE VALET LOCK ISN'T BROKEN BUT IT IS UNSAFE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, LIKE ME, THAT IT'S NOT SAFE TO LEAVE YOUR BELONGS IN THE TRUNK OF THIS CAR. *TR
