Your car's dashboard warning light indicated the engine temperature was near its limit, and you heard water sounds moving through the dashboard while driving, turning, or starting. The dealership confirmed this is a head gasket failure—the same issue affecting at least 20 other cars in their service department. Your car has been at the dealership for over a month and a half with no clear repair timeline due to the backlog of similar cases.

Your infotainment screen frequently becomes unresponsive and glitches while driving and parked, causing distracting screen flashes and zooming that take your eyes off the road. The screen also makes random phone calls, ends calls unexpectedly, and fails to respond to touches while in reverse, preventing you from using the backup camera views. Some owners report that replacing the screen doesn't permanently fix the problem. The dealer may need to replace the infotainment display unit, though this may require reprogramming or a complete system replacement.

Your car won't start, and multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard—including brake hold system, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, electric power steering, and collision mitigation system warnings. You've tested the battery (12.5V is normal), performed a hard reset, and tried jumpstarting, but the problem persists. This suggests an electrical or software issue affecting multiple systems that will need dealer diagnosis.

Your infotainment screen is responding to touches on its own, causing it to switch between screens without you touching it. This interferes with using GPS from your phone and causes the radio to turn off unexpectedly. You've tried resetting the system, but the problem persists. The issue may require a software update or replacement of the touchscreen display unit.

Your radio display randomly switches between stations and different screens without you touching anything, and the radio turns on by itself. This appears to be an electrical or software issue with your infotainment system. The fix may involve updating the radio's software, checking electrical connections, or replacing the radio unit.

The touch screen keep closing the navigation map and changing applications suddenly and repeatedly without me touching it. It is unsafe as I try to bring the map back while driving because I don't want to miss an exit or get lost. Honda said there is no fix for it until now and a new screen has a possibility the same problem may happen again.

Over the past year, the infotainment/navigation screen on my 2022 Honda Accord was identified as faulty by the dealership as the screen would erratically freeze or select functions on my navigation without any prompting. This occurs often when I am driving the vehicle and is an unprompted distraction that takes my attention away from controlling the vehicle or requires me to pull over to reset my navigation. The dealership validated this as a known issue and confirmed the screen would be replaced. This part has been on backorder for months with some customers waiting nearly a year. The lack of response or escalation from Honda has been concerning. The dealership is in possession of photos and videos of the faulty screen.

22 Honda Accord Sport. Infotainment turns on by itself and switches to random screens. When connect to my mobile via USB or bluetooth for navigation and Android auto, it does the same thing. Quite a few time, I am force to take my eyes off the road because it a major distraction. The glitch or screen switching and google voice randomly coming on forces me to take my eyes off the road in an attempt to stop it. This occurs daily

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a persistent and potentially dangerous issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. After 2.5 years of ownership, the system has begun malfunctioning on a daily basis while using Apple CarPlay. The issue presents as follows: the screen rapidly and uncontrollably cycles through applications, exits navigation, changes windows within the navigation app, and intermittently turns the radio on and off without any input. When this occurs, the screen freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. I am often forced to press the screen repeatedly for several minutes in an attempt to regain control—all while driving. This behavior significantly distracts from the task of operating the vehicle safely, particularly when relying on navigation in unfamiliar areas. It is not only frustrating, but poses a clear and unacceptable safety risk. Furthermore, this is not an isolated incident. Numerous owners have reported similar experiences in online forums, specifically related to the 2022 Accord model. Despite the prevalence of these complaints, the issue has not been formally inspected by Honda or confirmed by a dealership in my case. However, I do have video documentation of the malfunction and would be happy to provide it upon request. I urge Honda to take this matter seriously. A vehicle’s central screen seizing control during operation transforms a basic function—navigation—into a dangerous distraction. This is a significant safety issue that requires immediate investigation and resolution.

I am submitting this complaint to formally report a recurring safety issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The system is experiencing what is commonly referred to as "ghost touching"—where the screen registers false inputs and changes functions on its own without any user interaction. This issue causes the display to randomly switch between menus, adjust settings, and even interrupt or cancel navigation while the vehicle is in motion. At times, the screen rapidly flashes through various menus or changes audio sources, which is not only distracting but dangerously diverts the driver’s attention from the road. It has even placed random calls to people as my phone's contacts are synced. This is a known issue among owners of similar Honda vehicles, and I personally had the infotainment unit replaced under warranty last year for the exact same problem. However, the issue has returned, and despite it being a documented, recurring defect, Honda is now refusing to cover the cost of repair, citing that my vehicle is no longer under warranty. I am deeply concerned that this malfunction poses a serious safety risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. It forces drivers to interact with the system to regain control or restore lost navigation/audio functions—often while driving—thereby increasing the likelihood of distracted driving incidents. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue further and consider whether a recall or formal action is warranted to ensure that affected vehicles are repaired at no cost to owners and without further compromise to safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My touch screen glitches to the point where it changes stations, changes my navigation and it doesn’t fix itself at all even when I touch the screen. It’s a driving hazard especially when you are using the navigation. It just started and has been happening every time I’m driving, regardless if my phone is attached via Bluetooth or usb or not even at all now it just glitches.

For the last 4–6 months, the infotainment display touchscreen on my car has been malfunctioning on nearly every drive. The screen registers phantom touches (as if multiple buttons are being pressed) when no one is touching it. Typical behavior: the audio switches from Bluetooth to AM/FM on its own, opens random menus, and then the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive for several minutes or until I turn the car off and back on. During a freeze I cannot change audio sources or select functions. This began as an occasional issue but has become more and more frequent. I have tried cleaning the screen and removed items from the rearview mirror to rule out reflections/obstructions with no improvement. Safety concerns: the malfunction is distracting and forces me to use my phone for navigation when the screen freezes and I can’t access maps through the car reliably when needed. My state has a hands-free law prohibiting touching/holding a phone while driving, so this defect creates both a crash risk due to distractions caused by the radio malfunctioning and a risk of citations for something outside my control. I contacted my local Honda service department on August 5, 2025. They stated they’ve performed software updates and even radio replacements for other owners with the same issue, but customers return with the problem, and they are not offering an effective repair at this time. I also filed a complaint with Honda today, August 14, 2025. I personally know another Accord owner with identical symptoms, and I’ve found numerous similar reports online dating back to at least one year ago. No crash, fire, or injuries to date, but the issue occurs almost every time I drive.

Digital display (screen) is glitching by unexpectedly changing screens and performing operations by itself such as changing driving direction settings (GPS), and making phone calls while driving. The issue is not consistent, sometimes no issues are experienced for entire drive time, while other times it keeps glitching from start to finish of the drive time. There is no way to turn display off, and when glitching the display does not respond to any commands (touch screen). This sudden change of screens or performed operations take driver's attention away. The issue almost cost me an accident while driving on a highway. My wife afraid to drive the car since she does not trust its electronics now. Honda refuses to fix the issue and asks to replace the entire display unit without providing any diagnostic details on the issue also failing to provide explanation on why it is so inconsistent. If display is broken then it should be consistent...

Component: Infotainment system / touchscreen panel (Display Audio Unit) Description of Issue and Safety Concern: The infotainment touchscreen panel on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctions intermittently and unpredictably. It rapidly and repeatedly switches between modes (e.g., FM, AM, Bluetooth, phone) in a spastic pattern, similar to Morse code. This behavior often renders the touchscreen non-responsive. Even when powered off manually, it will turn itself back on and continue cycling through modes uncontrollably. This poses a safety risk by: •Creating driver distraction due to constant flashing, sound changes, and alerts. •Interrupting navigation, Bluetooth phone calls, and backup camera use. •Making it difficult to adjust settings or audio without taking eyes off the road. •Forcing the driver to troubleshoot or disable the screen while driving. The issue has been confirmed and documented by an authorized Honda dealership, and the vehicle is still under warranty. However, the part needed for repair has been unavailable, on backorder, since 9/2024. Despite multiple attempts, the manufacturer has not resolved the issue. No warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present, but the defect remains ongoing and persistent. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. ________________________________________

My touchscreen randomly started glitching, randomly dialing numbers and when I tap it to go back to my gps, the screen freeze. This is a danger for me as the driver, I’m not able to drive the car with confidence because the Apple CarPlay GPS will change screens while I’m actively driving, making me unaware of the gps direction and road. Is there a recall? There are many threads online of 10th gen accord drivers going through the same thing. When I call Honda of south miami dealer, they told me that I can come in and change it under warranty, but then suggested that it’ll be a waste of my time since there will be a recall soon. Customers have gone to the dealership with the same issue repeatedly AFTER Honda replaced theirs.

Re: Distracted Driving Awareness Month To whom it may concern: A little over a year ago, my 17-year-old car “gave up the ghost” and I bought a new Honda Accord. With this new car came a host of new-to-me technology. One item, that screen in the middle of my dashboard, is a contributing factor to the Distracted Driving Problem. Push buttons on radios were a great safety feature when first introduced. They allow drivers to change stations while driving without fiddling with the dial. Now, however, a driver takes their eyes off the road to look at the screen and select a channel or band or podcast, etc. Driving my old car, when I needed directions, I’d ask Siri to give me directions to a particular place, and she would talk me through it, giving me plenty of notice regarding when to turn, which exit to use, etc. All the while I kept my eyes on the road. Regretfully now, Siri also shows me a map on the screen indicating when to turn. Yes, she still talks to me, but there is this great temptation to take my eyes off the road and see where I’m going. During this Distracted Driving Awareness Month, I encourage you to reflect on the unnecessary road hazard that exist in the middle of the dashboard and eliminate those screens in future cars. We drove very well without them for over a century. And we don’t need another reason to take our eyes off the road.

The carplay keeps freezing, which causes a safety issue when attempting to fix the problem. For instance, the carplay froze while traveling long distances. I did not notice it stopped working and kept driving, assuming the exit was further away. Once I briefly looked again at the highway, I realized it was frozen, and I had to go to the shoulder of the road to restart the car play. I leased the car on 1/7/2023, and my carplay has frozen over seven times in 3 months. It causes a safety issue because I have to go on the shoulder of the highway, which leads to a random place (once in a hazardous area), and causes me to keep restarting the system and car.
