Your car has an oil leak that has proven difficult to locate, even after three separate visits to different mechanics who used diagnostic dye to trace it. The leak is causing you ongoing problems, though the exact source remains unidentified. Finding and sealing the leak source will likely require additional diagnostic work or inspection of common leak points like gaskets, seals, and oil lines.

I can’t get a new tag for the car and I have been pulled over by police 5 times now and received a citation due to this issue. Please if possible could you help me with this situation. The contact also stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was flashing on and off. The vehicle was previously repaired, and the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 265,000.

CALLED FORD DEALER (OCALA, FL) TOLD ME ISSUE IS KNOW TO THEM BUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN HAD EXPIRED @ 4 MONTHS PRIOR FOR MY VEHICLE! I PURCHASED AND REGISTERED VEHICLE 12/2015, HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICES OF THIS ISSUE. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS THROTTLE ACTUATOR FAILURE WAS A DANGEROUS ISSUE SAID I SHOULD REPLACE IT MYSELF "IF I CHOSE TO" AND KEEP RECEIPTS "IN CASE THEY ISSUE A RECAL IN THE FUTURE" FORD DEALER GAVE ME COMPLIANT # CAS26375302.. SPENT $400 TO HAVE THIS CORRECTED BECAUSE I BELIEVE THIS COULD BE A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION IF IT OCCURS AT HIGH SPEED OR IN AN INTERSECTION. I GUESS FORD WILL WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO GET HURT BEFORE ACKNOWLEDGING THE SEVERITY OF THIS THROTTLE MALFUNCTION.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT IT FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT QUICKLY SHIFTED INTO PARK AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE SOUNDED AS IF IT WERE ABOUT TO START, BUT IT DID NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A FRIEND OF THE CONTACT'S FAMILY GOOGLED THE FAILURE, WHICH INDICATED TO RESET THE FUEL PUMP SWITCH LOCATED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE FUEL PUMP SWITCH WAS RESET AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

THE VEHICLE FLEX FUEL SYSTEM IS HORRIBLE AND THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WE HAVE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AND REVIEWED BY MECHANICS, WHO COME BACK WITH ONE ISSUE, THE FLEX FUEL SET UP. SO WE ORDERED AND REPLACED THE FLEX FUEL PIPE 2 TIMES NOW. THE ENGINE LIGHT STILL CONTINUES TO POP BACK ON AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS GO BY. THE CAR SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FROM A DEALERSHIP LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. I AM SCARED TO DEATH SHE WILL CRASH WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF ON THE INTERSTATE. THE 2011 RECALL FORD ISSUED COVERED THE SAME TYPE OF ISSUE, WHICH IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE EXPANDED. MY DAUGHTER JUST CALLED AND STATED THAT THE CAR SHUT OFF 5 TIMES IN THE COURSE OF A MILE. LUCKILY, SHE WAS LOCAL.

THE "CHECK FUEL FILL INLET" CAME ON A COUPLE OF MILES AFTER FILLING GAS AND STAYED ON. AFTER A FEW MORE MILES, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON EVER SINCE. I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM 4 MONTHS AGO, BUT MY MECHANIC SAID IT IS A MALFUNCTION IN THE COMPUTER SO WE REPLACED THE COMPUTER. BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE FOR SOLUTIONS AND IT SEEMS MANY OTHER FORD ESCAPE USERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

ON SUNDAY, APRIL 22, 2018, WHILE ASCENDING A GRADE ON THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY IN NEWPORT BEACH, CA, THE 'YELLOW WRENCH' WARNING LIGHT ON MY 2010 FORD ESCAPE SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DEACCELERATED AND DID NOT RESPOND TO THE THROTTLE. AT THAT MOMENT I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE OF A 3-LANE HIGHWAY WITH OTHER VEHICLES APPROACHING FROM BEHIND AND PASSING AT 50 MPH. MY VEHICLE SLOWED TO ABOUT 5 MPH AS I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT WHERE I HOPED IT HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM THAT I COULD MAKE IT TO THE TOP OF THE GRADE AND EXIT THE HIGHWAY. THE RIGHT-HAND EXIT WAS DOWNHILL AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST AND CREEP INTO A MARKET PARKING LOT WHERE I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TRIED TO CALM DOWN. FROM THE VEHICLE MANUAL I LEARNED THAT THE 'YELLOW WRENCH' INDICATED 'THROTTLE CONTROL OR DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS.' AS IT TURNED OUT IT WAS A SUNDAY MORNING AND I DID NOT HAVE A PHONE WITH ME SO I DECIDED TO TRY RESTARTING THE ENGINE. IT STARTED AND THE YELLOW WRENCH DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AFTER A SHORT TEST DRIVE IN THE PARKING LOT I DECIDED TO CANCEL MY ERRANDS AND TRY TO RETURN HOME, A DISTANCE OF A FEW MILES. I DROVE AT 25-30 MPH ON RESIDENTIAL SIDE STREETS AND MADE IT HOME WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND DESCRIBED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND REPORT BACK. LATER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY AND THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT PART. WHEN I CAME IN TO PICK UP THE CAR I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO CHARGE BECAUSE THE REPAIR 'WAS UNDER WARRANTY!' THIS WAS A BIG SURPRISE, SINCE I HAD NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM NOR OF A WARRANTY EXTENSION. SUDDEN DEACCELERATION WOULD BE DANGEROUS ON A FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, NOT MITIGATED BY "LIMP HOME" CAPABILITY

VEHICLE HAD 90, 232 MILES AT DEALERSHIP.

THE CAR REQUIRED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BE REPLACED. THERE IS A FIELD SERVICE ACTION ON THIS MODEL. THE PREVIOUS YEAR THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, FOR A VOLUNTARY SAFETY DEFECT CHECK FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. APPARENTLY THE TEMPORARY FIX, REPROGRAMMING THE CONTROL, THAT WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE THE PREVIOUS YEAR WAS NOT SATISFACTORY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I SHOWED MY ANGER AND DISAPPOINTMENT - WHICH AT THAT POINT, THE SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT MY CAR HAD A WHITE FUNNEL THAT THEY WOULD USE TO TRY TO UNDO THE FLAP. IT WORKED. WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY TRY TO GET ME TO PAY $527 WITHOUT FIRST TRYING THE FUNNEL. ANOTHER CLIENT IN THE SERVICE DEPT ADVISED ME TO DO THE FUNNEL THING BEFORE THE SERVICE GUY DID. FORD REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASY WHICH WAS ON BACKORDER FOR 2 WEEKS. TODAY, DECEMBER 26 2013 THE SYMPTOM HAS RESURFACED. THE ENGINE SIMPLY STOPPED IN THE MIDST OF TRAFFIC. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER THE CAR STARTED AND PERFORMED NORMALLY. MY POCKET SCANNER SHOWED OBD2 CODE 2111, MEANING THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL WAS STUCK OPEN. I REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, INCLUDING THE ACTUATOR CONTROL THAT MORNING. THE CAR HAS NOW RUN ABOUT A WEEK AND SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES WITH NO TROUBLE. THE NUMBER ON THE ORIGINAL THROTTLE IS 100053000805. THE NEW ONE IS DS7Z*9E926*D, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TICKET. I HAVE THE OLD PART BOXED UP IN CASE FORD EVER RECALLS IT. THE PARTS MAN AT FORD SAID THAT THE THROTTLE PART NUMBER HAD BEEN REVISED A COUPLE OF TIMES. I AM JUST GLAD THAT IT WENT BAD ON A QUIET STREET AND NOT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THEY INDICATED THAT IF THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON (THERE WAS NONE) THEN IT WOULD BE UNLIKELY FOR THEM TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. THREE DAYS LATER, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AGAIN. AGAIN, I TURNED THE CAR OFF, RESTARTED IT, AND DROVE OFF. IT WAS IN THICK TRAFFIC SO WE WERE MOVING SLOWLY FOR THE HIGHWAY, BUT AGAIN IT WAS BETWEEN 40-50 MILES/HOUR. I BELIEVE THIS IS EXACTLY LIKE THE INCIDENTS DETAILED IN THE CURRENT OPEN INVESTIGATION, PE13003, OPENED IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. A RECALL OF THESE FORD ESCAPES NEEDS TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR CAR TO SUDDENLY STOP FOR NO REASON ESPECIALLY IF THE SUV IS CARRIED SMALL CHILDREN (MINE WAS NOT). I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS ISSUE UNTIL I DID SOME INVESTIGATION ONLINE, AND THE FORD DEALER NEVER MENTIONED IT TO ME AT ALL WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN. IN FACT, THEY SAID IT "JUST MIGHT GO AWAY". I WAS DRIVING AT AROUND 25MPH ON A SURFACE ROAD, WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER, AND MY SPEED DROPPED TO 5MPH ("LIMP MODE"). I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND THEN RESTARTED THE ENGINE AFTER A MINUTE. IT SEEMED TO RUN NORMALLY. I TOOK IT IN TO A SHOP FOR INSPECTION, AND THEY COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. HOWEVER ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER, THE EXACT SAME SITUATION REOCCURRED, SO I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO A BAD THROTTLE BODY. IT TOOK 3 WEEKS FOR THEM TO GET THE THROTTLE BODY, WHICH WAS APPARENTLY BACKORDERED, PROBABLY BECAUSE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR THROTTLE BODIES AS WELL. I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. IT WOULD SEEM THIS DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE IS WIDESPREAD AMONG CERTAIN FORD MODELS, INCLUDING THE ESCAPE. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE DEFECT, AND THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED TO PREVENT ANY ACCIDENTS FROM OCCURRING. I'M VERY UPSET THAT DESPITE THIS ISSUE HAVING BEEN KNOWN ABOUT SINCE LATE 2011/EARLY 2012, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY FORD AND HAD TO FIND OUT THE HARD WAY, WITH MY CAR LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF MOVING TRAFFIC. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY, WITH TROUBLE CODES P2111 AND P2112 PRESENT IN THE ON BOARD COMPUTER SYSTEM, INDICATING THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM WAS STUCK OPEN AND CLOSED, RESPECTIVELY. SINCE IT WASN'T A FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO DO A COMPLETE DIAGNOSIS. BUT BASED ON WHAT THEY WERE ABLE TO DO, IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN IGNITION AND ENGINE. I HAD THIS FOR TWO YEARS NOW ORIGINALLY PURCHASED FROM AAFES MILITARY SALES KOREA AND THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I AM COMPLETELY BAFFLED AND IRRITATED BY ALL THIS EVENT BECAUSE THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR THE CAR TO STALL LIKE THAT. CURRENTLY I AM OVERSEAS IN KOREA WITH THE US ARMY AND THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF FORD DEALERSHIPS OVER AND THEY ARE NOT NEAR BY. *TR

LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE FORD ESCAPE, I WAS HEADED EAST FROM SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI TO MA ON RT 79/24 AT 6:30 A.M. DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AN HOUR, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED ON THE CONTROL PANEL. I WAS WITHOUT A CELL PHONE. IN THE DISTANCE I COULD SEE AN OFF RAMP AND WAS ABOUT TO WALK. I SUCCESSFULLY RESTARTED THE CAR, EXITED THE HIGHWAY, TO RETURN TO RI. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES, THE CAR AGAIN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN SEEKONK AND THE WRENCH LIGHT AGAIN CAME ON THE CONTROL PANEL. AGAIN, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED CAUTIOUSLY TO SOUTH KINGSTOWN, WHEN THE CAR AGAIN STOPPED IN WAKEFIELD, AND THE WRENCH LIGHT INDICATING A POWER TRAIN FAILURE APPEARED ON THE CONTROL PANEL. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. IT STILL HAD A MONTH LEFT ON THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. UPON INSPECTION THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY TOLD ME THAT UNLESS THE PROBLEM COULD BE RECREATED, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS. BECAUSE IT WAS LABOR DAY WEEKEND, I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL TUESDAY AND TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER IN NARRAGANSETT RI, WHERE THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS. THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE INCIDENT AND SAID THAT UNLESS THEY COULD SIMULATE IT, FORD WOULD NOT PAY TO REPLACE ANY PARTS. *TR THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES, TO TRY AND RECTIFY THE STALLING ISSUE, BUT TO NO AVAIL. OK FOR ABOUT 8 WEEKS, NOW SAME PROBLEM NO A/C AND DEALER WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK, NOR WILL FORD MOTOR. THEY WANT ME TO PAY AGAIN TO HAVE UNIT CHECKED AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN WILLING TO GIVE ME A LOANER FOR THE 3 DAYS THEY CLAIM IT IS GOING TO TAKE THEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM. FORD STATES I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CHECK AND THEY ARE UNSURE IF THEY WILL HELP ME PAY TO THE REPAIRS AGAIN. *TR

I HAD JUST ENTERED THE INTERSTATE AND WAS ACCELERATING UP TO SPEED. SUDDENLY THERE WAS NO POWER, A LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THERE WAS A SIGNAL. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AND WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND I WENT ON WITH MY BUSINESS. LATER THAT DAY THE SAME THING HAPPEND AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I GOT HOME I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT WAS OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS BY 8 OR 9 PERCENT. THEY ALSO STATED IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRENTY. I TOLD THEM IT WAS A CPO VEHICLE THAT I HAD PURCHASED 3 DAYS BEFORE. I PAID THE BILL AND MY DEALER REIMBURSED ME THE $100 DEDUCTABLE DUE TO THE FIRST DEALER FILING THE PAPERWORK INCORRECTLY. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE AND IT NOW HAS 48,000 MILES ON IT. *JS

WHILE MAKE A MOVING LEFT HAND TURN... ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. AS I CAME OUT OF THE TURN & STARTED TO TRY TO ACCELERATE I QUICKLY REALIZED I HAD NO ENGINE POWER... THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE ESCAPE STRAIGHT DOWN TO OUR FORD DEALERSHIP. FORD RAN A BUNCH OF TESTS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I AM AFRAID TO LET MY WIFE DRIVE THE VEHICLE NOW (HER VEHICLE) BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SINCE I WAS 11 YEARS OLD. I AM NOW NEARLY 40. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS SITUATION. I LOOKED ALL AROUND THE STEERING WHEEL/ETC. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF THERE WAS SOME WAY I COULD HAVE TURNED OFF THE ENGINE (BESIDES THE KEYS)... I CANNOT SEE ANY OTHER POSSIBILITY... THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN "DRIVE" & THE FUEL TANK WAS MORE THAN HALF FULL. THE VEHICLE KEY IN THE IGNITION WAS STILL TURNED ON WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I CANNOT SAY FOR SURE THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS ABSENT WHEN THE ENGINE INITIALLY TURNED OFF... DID I STILL HAVE A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF ENGINE POWER?... I DO NOT KNOW... BUT I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. AT STOP OR IDLE, ENGINE SURGES, HESITATES, STALLS, SMELL GAS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. TOOK ESCAPE TO DEALER. DEALER SAYS ITS THE PURGE VALVE AND EVAP CANISTER. PURGE VALVE FAILED AND RAW GAS FILLED EVAP CANISTER. DEALER SAYS ITS OUT OF WARRANTY, THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOW PROBLEM SINCE 2006, TSB BULLETIN 11-3-22, PART # 9U5Z-9C915H-PURGE VALVE, PART # 9R3Z-9C985-B EVAP CANISTER. FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE DAMAGED PARTS WITH THE SAME PARTS WITH NO FIX FOR THE SPILLAGE OF RAW FUEL, ON THE GROUND, IN THE AIR, ON THE VEHICLE. THIS RAW FUEL SITUATION COULD CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION AT ANY TIME. YET FORD SAYS ITS NOT AN EMISSION ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FORD FORUMS ON THE INTERNET ARE FULL OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME RAW FUEL SPILLAGE. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE FORD ADMITS THEY HAVE A DESIGN PROBLEM AND FIXES IT??? DRIVING OFF ROAD UP A STEEP INCLINE (40-45 DEGREES), THE VEHICLE CAME TO A HALT. THERE WASN'T ANY POWER GOING TO THE TIRES EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE ENGINE RPM WOULD ONLY REV UP TO ABOUT 1200 RPM. IT FELT AS IF THERE WAS A DISCONNECT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE AS THERE WAS NO POWER BEING DELIVERED TO THE TIRES. THE TIRES DID NOT LOOSE TRACTION OR SPIN EITHER. WHAT WAS ESPECIALLY UNSAFE ABOUT THIS IS THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS BACKING DOWN THE STEEP HILL I HAD TRIED TO ASCEND. I WAS TRYING TO BACK DOWN SLOWLY BY USING THE BRAKE, BUT MANY TIMES THE BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHIFT AND SLIDE SOMETIMES SIDEWAYS WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL. I TRIED TO GO UP THE HILL AGAIN TO NO AVAIL. THIS VEHICLE IS USED BY THE US FOREST SERVICE IN WHICH MANY TIMES THE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED TO GO OF ROAD ON FOREST SERVICE ROADS. THERE IS A SECTION IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL ABOUT OFF ROAD DRIVING, BUT IT MAKES NO MENTION THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UP STEEP INCLINES.

S10 DIRECT REPLY-LETTER TO THE ADMINISTRATOR FROM CONGRESSMAN STEARNS ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE HER ORDEAL WHILE DRIVING HER 2010 FORD ESCAPE *TGW CHEMICALS WERE DISCHARGED THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE INHALATION OF THE CHEMICALS THE CONSUMER WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THE DOCTORS INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT HER CONDITION HAD FORMED INTO PNEUMONIA AS A RESULT OF INHALING THE CHEMICALS. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONSUMER PURCHASED THE VEHICLE STATED THE DISCHARGE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVAPORATOR TUBE AND IT WAS COMMON. THEY ALSO STATED IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT AND IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. *JB

PURCHASED A 2010 FORD ESCAPE NEW, 4 MONTHS AFTER THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY CLAIMED IT COULD NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED BY AN OBJECT MOST LIKELY FROM THE ROAD. DAMAGES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE TECH WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE GRILL DOES NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION FOR THE AC CONDENSER THEREFORE EVEN IF I PAID TO HAVE IT FIXED AND DIDN'T REPLACE THE GRILL, IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN.
