Your Durango stalled without warning while slowly approaching a stop sign at about 5 mph. The engine would restart when you put the shifter in Park or Neutral, but stalled again as soon as you shifted into Drive. This suggests a problem with the transmission, idle control, or fuel delivery when the vehicle is under load.

ABS PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ON. NO CODE COMES THROUGH SCANNER. TRANSMISSION DRAGS AND SHIFTS IMPROPERLY THROUGHOUT. DURING SLIPPERY SNOW CONDITIONS NOT ABLE TO BRAKE WITH ABS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. THERE ARE MANY REVIEWS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH THE DODGE DURANGO AND THIS SHOULD BE A VERY IMPORTANT MATTER DUE TO ALL THE DODGE DURANGOSO ON THE ROAD. I HAVE BEEN TO A COUPLE MECHANICS THAT DON'T EXACTLY KNOW WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM IS AND THAT IS NOT OK. SAFETY FIRST!
I WAS DRIVING 60 MILES A HOUR ON MONTAUK HIGHWAY IN NY, VEHICLE JUST SHUTS OFF, NO CODES OR LIGHTS, AND THEN AFTER PULLING OVER, AND ALMOST GETTING KILLED, LOSING ENGINE POWER AND POWER STEERING. IT THEN SHOWS NO BUS ERROR ON DASH, AFTER IT COOLS DOWN, IT RESTARTS. IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES, AND IT WAS THE PCM. APPARENTLY, THIS IS HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF DURANGO'S, RAMS, AND OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE. I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH. THIS IS A SUPER UNSAFE PROBLEM, AND I CANT UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. THERE ARE THOUSANDS BEING REPLACED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS SUPER DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *TR
ENGINE SHUTDOWN, OUT OF THE BLUE. NOBUS APPEARED ON ODOMETER. ALL GAUGES WERE ON 0, BUT ALL OTHER ELECTRONICS WORKED. STARTER WOULD CRANK, BUT IGNITION WOULD NOT IGNITE. I'M NOT SURE IF FUEL PUMP WENT ON OR NOT. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BACK UP FOR APX 20 MINUTES. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THEN TWICE IN ONE DAY. THE QUICKEST, BUT TEMPORARY, SOLUTION IS TO COOL DOWN PCM. AN ICE PACK WORKS GREAT! BUT THIS IS NOT ALWAYS CONVENIENT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, PROBLEM IS WORSE ON HOT DAYS. ONCE THIS HAPPENS, YOU NEED TO REPLACE PCM BECAUSE SOLDER JOINTS ARE BROKEN WITHIN. WHEN UNIT COOLS, METAL CONTRACTS, AND CONTACT IS MADE AGAIN, AND TRUCK WILL START. BUT KEEP IN MIND-THE SOLDER JOINTS ARE STILL BROKEN. WHEN UNIT HEATS BACK UP, METAL WILL EXPAND, AND CONNECTION WILL BE LOST AGAIN, CAUSING ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND NO BUS TO ELECTRICAL IGNITION SYSTEM. THE VERY FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I HAD GONE OVER A BUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY WHAT INITIALLY "BROKE" THE SOLDER JOINT. A NEW PCM CAN RUN $400. ONE FROM A JUNK YARD COULD WORK, BUT THERE'S ALWAYS THE RISK THAT, IT TOO, HAS THE SAME PROBLEM-MAYBE THAT'S WHY THE TRUCK IS IN THE JUNKYARD TO BEGIN WITH! AND IF IT WAS IN FRONT END COLLISION, GOOD CHANCE IT WON'T BE ANY GOOD EITHER! I'VE OWNED MY DURANGO FOR 13 YEARS, AND IT HAS NEVER REALLY LEFT ME STRANDED. BUT NOW THAT IT HAS THIS PROBLEM, COMBINED WITH BAD DESIGN OF FRONT HUB ASSY, VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE AND IT'S TIME TO RETIRE IT - EVEN THOUGH MOTOR STILL RUNS STRONG. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED AT 60MPH. SPEED AND TACH WENT TO ZERO. VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. WOULD START AFTER COOLING DOWN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. WOULD STALL AGAIN. SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. FINALLY IT STALLED FOR GOOD. HAD IT TOWED TO DODGE DEALER. DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE PCM. PAID $2000 TO HAVE PCM INSTALLED WITH A NEW IGNITION COIL. IT LASTED ABOUT 4 HOURS AND 200 MILES AND IT STALLED AGAIN. SAMETHING OVER AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER DODGE DEALER PAID AN ADDITIONAL $260 HAD ANOTHER IGNITION COIL INSTALLED AND IT STILL DOESN'T RUN RIGHT. THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY, THE SECURITY SYSTEM ENGAGES FOR NO REASON AND CONTINUES TO STALL. DODGE CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, OR SIMPLY DOESN'T CARE. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY WON'T START AND IS GROUNDED. ALL THIS AFTER ALMOST $2500 REPAIRS FROM DODGE THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALL THE REPAIR INVOICES FROM THE DEALERS. *TR
I BOUGHT A 1999 DODGE DURANGO SLT 5.2 LTR ENGINE AS OF 3 TO 4 YRS AGO, AND IN SOME CASES LIKE MINE, IT ABSOLUTELY DOES MEAN IT CAN BE AN ABSOLUTELY UNRELIABLE & ABSOLUTE DANGEROUS VEHICLE!!!!! ..EVERYTHING THAT CAN HAPPEN, HAS HAPPENED TO THIS VEHICLE. ENGINE STALLS OUT, THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL EXPLODED ON THE HIGHWAY 4 MILES AFTER I HAD TO PUT IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE & ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK,I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AXLES.. THE BACK (REAR) BREAKS HAVE NEVER WORKED SINCE I BOUGHT THE THING, THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS GOT SO HOT THAT THE BOLTS THAT CONNECT IT TO THE MANIFOLD PIPES BURNED OFF AND IS NOW, AND HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A MONTH SINCE I CAN'T KEEP IT TOGETHER. RIGHT NOW ALL THREE OF MY FRONT BRAKE LINES HAVE ROTTED INTO, AT THE CONNECTOR FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER THAT SENDS THE FLUID TO THE FRONT 2 WHEELS!!.. THAT'S JUST THE START OF ALL OF THE TERRIBLE DANGER THAT IT POSES TO ME AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A COMPLETE RECALL OF THE 1999 DODGE DURANGO SLT. THE DODGE MANUFACTURE SHOULD NOT GET BY WITH THIS. ITS ALMOST LIKE SELLING A DEVICE TO GET HURT IN. I PAID OVER 4,000.00 FOR THIS DURANGO, JUST TO SPEND THAT MUCH MORE MONEY AND THE CHANCE OF GETTING HURT OR WORSE WHILE HAVING IT REBUILT WHERE IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE SAFE. ....OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE STOPPED WORKING ALSO.. VEHICLE DIES WITH NO NOTICE, PROBLEM IS PCM. THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL YEARS OF THE DODGE PRODUCTS. THE PCM FAILS AND THE CAR CAN LOSE POWER WHILE IN OPERATION. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THE CAR CAN LOSE POWER WHILE OPERATING ON THE HIGHWAY OR AT ANY SPEED! DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. A REPLACEMENT PCM IS REPORTED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. SOME COMPLAINTS INDICATE THAT IT'S AN OVERHEATING ISSUE, HOWEVER MINE STALLS AND DIES IN VARIOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS. USUALLY, I CAN UNPLUG THE CONNECTORS TO THE PCM AND PLUG THEM BACK IN TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THE VEHICLE WILL START AND RUN AGAIN FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. SINCE THIS PROBLEM IS SO UNPREDICTABLE, THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO HAVE ON THE ROAD. *KB

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

WARM WEATHER THE ENGINE QUITS. 3 TIME WITHIN TWO WEEKS DRIVING 65-70 MPH ON HIGHWAY WHILE PULLING A BOAT ALL 3 TIMES. THE PROBLEM IS THE PCM ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. GETS TO HOT AND SHUTS THE ENGINE DOWN. NO BRAKES, NO STEERING! THIS PROBLEM IS DOCUMENTED IN DODGE FORUMS THOUSANDS OF TIMES WITH EVERYONE QUOTING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES WITH NOTHING BEING DONE NOR ANY FIXES THAT WILL WORK. *TR

THE BRAKE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
4 YEAR OLD CHILD IN CAR RAN TO GET KEYS DIDN'T KNOW WAS IN SWITCH. CHILD TURNED KEY ON DID NOT START. BUMPED SHIFTER RAN OVER BANK IN TO HIGHWAY OVER ANOTHER BANK. BACK IN THE SUMMER OF 2008 I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 1999 DODGE DURANGO SHUTTING OFF FOR NO REASON. I DID SOME ONLINE SEARCHING AND FOUND THE PCM,ECM UNIT WAS OVER HEATING, AFTER COOLING IT WITH AN ICE PACK FOR 5 MINUTES THE CAR WOULD START AGAIN. AFTER 3 MONTHS I FINALLY BOUGHT I REBUILT PCM ON EBAY, THEY PROGRAMMED THE UNIT FOR MY CAR AND IT RAN BETTER THEN EVER. WELL TODAY 6/4/2010 DON'T YOU KNOW IT DID IT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE UNIT IS COMPLETELY DEAD, I STILL HAVE THE OLD UNIT AND POPPED THAT IN AND WOW IT STARTED. WE NEED TO FIGHT DODGE ON THIS TO RELOCATE THE PCM ON THE FIREWALL NEAR THE BATTERY WHERE IT STAYS COOL. ALL THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE IS BLOWN TO THAT SIDE OF THE CAR CAUSING THIS ISSUE. HOW TO DO WE GET DODGE TO FIX THIS LIKE OTHERS HAVE SAID SOMEONE WILL GET HURT AND I HATE TO TRASH A CAR WITH ONLY 74,000 MILES ON IT. *TR

THE VEHICLE FAILED AGAIN AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BATTERY CABLES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN AT THE COST OF $150. THE VEHICLE HAS CONTINUED TO FAIL AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE BATTERY AND BATTERY CABLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY STATED THAT THE PCM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE MADE BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS NOT HAD ANY FAILURES BESIDES THE BATTERY CABLES, BATTERY, AND PCM BEING REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER BACK FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE IF THE FAILURE RECURS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE SUV WITH LOSS OF SPEED. PULLED OVER AND SAW A FIRE. I PUT IT OUR AND HAD THE TRUCK TOWED. PCM FAILURE. WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 75MPH WHEN I LOST ALL POWER( I.E. STEERING, BRAKES, ETC.) AND THE ENGINE DIED. TRIED RESTARTING AND THE ODOMETER FLASHED A WARNING CODE. 30 MINUTES LATER IT STARTED. I ONLY GOT ABOUT TWO MILES AWAY AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. CONTACTED LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A FAIRLY COMMON THING BUT SINCE MY WARRANTY WAS OVER THAT I WAS ON MY OWN. A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING IT AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED. GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND OCCASIONALLY AT 50 MPH THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WOULD TURN OFF NO POWER ANYWHERE. REPAIR SHOP COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, FINALLY AFTER 2 WEEKS AT THE SHOP THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. THE COMPUTER NUMBER THEY GAVE ME IS A RE-MANUFACTURED NUMBER. SO THE POWER TRAIN HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WITH 24,000 MILES IN 2001. NOW THE COST JUST FOR THE PART IS $535.60. THAT MAKES 2 POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULES FOR 1 VEHICLE. *JB

AT CHRISTMASTIME OUR TRANSMISSION BEGAN ACTING UP. WE BELIEVED THE HARSH WINTER WEATHER WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM BC ONCE THE ENGINE HEATED UP, THE VEHICLE DROVE JUST FINE. AT ANY RATE, WE TOOK IN TO BE SERVICED IN MARCH AND HAD THE 4X4 REAR DIFFERENTIALS FLUSHED AND SERVICED AND THE FLUID CHANGED. WHILE IT WAS IN FOR THAT REPAIR (AT A DEALERSHIP) THEY CALLED AND SAID THE 2 FRONT BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE KNEW ABOUT THE RECALL, SO ASKED THEM ABOUT IT, BUT IT JUST FIGURES OUR VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. SO, $1600 LATER, WE WENT AND PICKED IT UP AND SEEMED TO DRIVE JUST FINE. WELL, THEN 3 WKS. LATER I WAS DRIVING TO THE GROCERY STORE. I WAS STOPPED A RED LIGHT, AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN I WENT TO GO AND IT JUST BARELY ACCELERATED. LUCKILY, THE RED LIGHT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE WE NORMALLY USE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE AROUND AND GET IT TO WHERE I WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE. I WENT IN AND TOLD THE MECHANIC WHAT HAPPENED. THE TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 2 WKS. IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AFTER HAVING JUST BEEN SERVICED! IT COST $3300! WE DON'T BELIEVE HE COULD HAVE HIT IT WITH ENOUGH FORCE FOR THAT TO HAPPEN IF IT HAD NOT BEEN DEFECTIVE TO BEGIN WITH. HIS WIFE EVEN SPOKE TO ME ABOUT THIS LAST CHRISTMAS AFTER THE RECALL CAME OUT. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE TRANSMISSION. OWNER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION APPEARED AS IF THE DRIVER HAD BEEN GOING 80 MPH, THEN SUDDENLY SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THEN, OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO CLAIMED THAT VEHICLE HAD TOO MANY MILES ON IT, AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. *AK
WE WERE DRIVING EAST ON I-90, JUST EAST OF GARY, IN. OUR SUV CAUGHT FIRE, WE COULD SMELL SMOKE, AND WE MADE AN EMERGENCY STOP AT EXIT 17. ANOTHER CAR PULLED UP BEHIND US, AND THE DRIVER SAID HE SAW FLAMES UNDER THE CAR. MY WIFE AND I RAN FROM THE CAR IN FEAR. THE CAR HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS, AND WE FELT OUR LIVES WERE IN JEOPARDY. I TOLD THE TOLL BOOTH ATTENDANT THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE, GOT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM HER, AND SHE VOLUNTEERED TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. I PUT OUT THE FIRE THAT WAS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE FRONT AXLE. WE CALLED OUR STATE FARM AGENT TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. THE SUV WAS TOWED TO GREGORY DODGE IN HIGHLAND PARK, IL TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE, WHERE IT IS STILL BEING EVALUATED. AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE, THE FRONT AXLE AND DRIVE SHAFT DISINTEGRATED. *JB

AT 83,000 MILES MY TRANSIMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP. THE MACHNIC STATED THAT THE LOUD KNOCK THAT I EXPERIENCED EARLIER WAS A ROD THE CONNECTS THE TRANSMISSION THE THE ENGINE BREAKING AND THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. SAID THAT THE SCREEN IN THE OIL FILTER OR PUMP WAS CLOGGED AND TONS OF SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE. THEY FLUSHED THE SCREEN AND THE ENGINE OUT AND CHANGED THE OIL. CAR RAN NORMAL FROM THERE AND DROVE BACK TO JACKSONVILLE FINE. ONCE BACK ON JACKSONVILLE, THE CHECK GAUGE AND NO OIL PRESSURE IS BACK. CAR SITTING IN DRIVEWAY, AFRAID TO DRIVE TO WORK AND NO MONEY TO REPLACE WHAT IS WRONG THIS TIME. SECOND CHRYLSER VEHICLE OWED AND SHOULD OF LEARNED THE FIRST TIME WHEN I HAD A DODGE CARAVAN THAT HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED 3 TIMES AND OTHER NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. DURANGO HAS GIVEN TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS INCLUDING HIGH REV BEFORE SHIFTING, AND ROUGH SHIFTING IN GENERAL.PROBLEM WILL ALWAYS OCCUR IF ALLOWED TO IDLE FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESUMING MOVEMENT. HAS APPEARED TO SLIP ON OCCASIONS. PINION BROKE WITH VEHICLE IN NO APPARENT STRAIN WITH VERY SLIGHT ACCELERATION ON TAKE-OFF- CAUSED MAJOR REAR END DAMAGE AS WELL AS RUINING ONE REAR AXLE. CONTACTED DODGE CONCERING PROBLEM SINCE PART BROKE WAS 1.5 INCH THICK STEEL WHICH BROKE SO SMOOTHLY, IT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN CUT. PART SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH VEHICLE 50 YEARS FROM NOW WHEN IT IS IN A JUNK-YARD! WAS INFORMED THAT SINCE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THAT NOTHING COULD BE COMPENSATED FOR. FORTUNATELY, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE OPEN ROAD, OR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED. I FEEL DODGE SHOULD AT THE VERY LEAST REIMBURSE US FOR THIS PROBLEM AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION WOES!
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT SUDDENLY. WE NOTICED IT MAKING A WHINING NOISE WHEN SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. THIS STOPPED WHEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. AFTER APPROX. TWO DAYS THE NOISE STAYED IN DRIVE. CHANGED THE FAN BELT AND CHECKED OTHER MINOR THINGS. READ MANUALS AND SUSPECTED TRANS TROUBLE, TOOK IT IN AND IT NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE PAN WAS FILLED WITH PIECES OF METAL. WE ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE LEFT UPPER BALL JOINT REPLACED AT 55,548 MILES, THIS WAS GOING ON A LONG TIME AND CAUSED SIGNIFICANT TIRE WEAR.

AS THE CONSUMER TRIED TO STEER BACK INTO THE LANE, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO THE RIGHT LANE. THE CONSUMER HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE DIDN'T SLOW DOWN, INSTEAD IT WENT OUT CONTROL AND TRAVELED BACKWARDS FACING TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE HIT A BARRIER WALL OF THE BRIDGE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, BOUNCED OFF THE WALL, SPUN AROUND AGAIN, AND HIT THE BARRIER WALL AGAIN IN THE REAR LEFT SIDE. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AGAIN AND ENDED BACK ON THE INTERSTATE. THE LEFT REAR WHEEL HAD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND WAS FOUND ACROSS THE HIGHWAY. AT EACH REPAIR ATTEMPT, BEARINGS, CUPS AND SEALS ARE REPLACED, REPAIRS HAVE LASTED ABOUT 2000 MILES, 500MILES AND TWICE AT UNDER 100 MILES. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED 4 TIMES, ONCE AT A DODGE DEARLERSHIP OTHER THAN THE ONE WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND 3 TIMES AT THE PURCHASING DEALERSHIP. THE LAST REPAIRS INCLUDED REPLACING THE REAREND HOUSING, NOW THOUGH, WITHIN 100 MILES, THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. AT LAST TEAR DOWN OF THE REAREND, THE PINION GEAR'S TEETH WERE CHIPPED. THIS FACT IS WHAT SCARES MYSELF AND MY WIFE, A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE PINION GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS COULD BE DISASTROUS. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE ABOUT THE NUMEROUS REPAIRS AND FAILURES THROUGH CERTIFIED MAIL, MY ONLY CONTACT WITH THEM IS TO SAY THEY RECEIVED THE NOTICE AND THEN THE PURCHASING DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE MANAGER CALLED TO VOICE HIS HOSTILITIES TO US AS TO WHY WE WENT OVER HIS HEAD WITH THIS!
