I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THE MOTOR FOR $7,000. ANY HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURE POSSIBLE?

WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH EVIDENCE OF SMOKE THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED THE CAUSE WAS DAMAGE FROM A MELTED RADIATOR THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS SMOKE COMING THROUGH THE AIR CONDITION VENTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HOOD WAS RAISED AND THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT ANTIFREEZE WAS POURING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN MELTED AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN AND THE RADIATOR HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPLACED DUE TO THE SAME FAILURE. MY RADIATOR FAN BLADE BROKE OFF AND FLEW INTO MY RADIATOR. THE PIECE OF FAN THAT BROKE OFF FLEW INTO MY RADIATOR PUNCTURING A HOLE INTO THE LOWER PART OF THE RADIATOR. A HOLE WAS MADE FROM THE BLADE HITTING IT AND CAUSING ALL THE ANTIFREEZE TO LEAK OUT. THIS IS SECOND TIME IN A TWO YEAR PERIOD BACK-TO-BACK THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. AND THE REPAIRS AND PARTS COSTED ME DEARLY. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON MID WAY. AND THE AS THE FAN WAS TURNING THE BROKEN BLADE GOT STUCK AND THE FAN STARTED TO SMOKE ALMOST CATCHING FIRE.

RECALL L08 ENGINE COOLING FANS, THIS RECALL IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN TO MY CAR. COOLING BLADES BROKE AND WENT THROUGH THE RADIATOR. CALLED CHRYSLER TO COMPLAIN AS I WAS TOLD RECALL ISN'T ON MY EXACT VIN. THEY TOOK MY COMPLAINT AND SAID IT WAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT TOUGH LUCK BECAUSE THE RECALL WASN'T ON MY VIN. MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE FRONT YARD TILL I CAN AFFORD TO FIX IT ONLY HAD THE CAR 2 MONTHS. SITTING AT THE LIGHT FELT LIKE SOMEONE BUMPED THE BACK OF MY CAR BUT THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. COOLANT STARTED TO LEAK THROUGH THE A/C VENT. PULLED OVER AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGED AND TOWED THE CAR HOME AS IT JUST STARTED TO SHOW THAT IT WAS GOING TO OVERHEAT. WE REMOVED THE COOLING FAN AND SAW THE BROKEN BLADES AND THE WHOLE IT MADE IN THE RADIATOR. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THE BLADES ARE CHEAP AND BREAK EASILY. WELL HELLO IF I AM GOING TO PAY THAT MUCH I HOPE THAT A VEHICLE IS GOING TO SOMEWHAT HOLD TOGETHER. THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM HAD JUST REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND INSPECTED THE FAN AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. THEN IT JUST BREAKS I CAN TAKE AND SEND PICS IF NEEDED. THANK YOU

ON THE EVENING OF 09/17/2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 2200HRS, MY WIFE WAS LEAVING A LOCAL STORE PARKING LOT WHEN SHE HEARD A NOISE AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND MAKE A LOUD NOISE. SMOKE AND FLUID BEGAN COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. SHE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. I RECEIVED A FRANTIC PHONE CALL AND RESPONDED TO THE LOCATION TO FIND THAT A LITTLE MORE THAN HALF OF THE ELECTRIC RADIATOR COOLING FAN BLADES HAD DESENTIGRATED INTO PIECES, CUTTING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE IS NOW INOPERABLE AND PARKED AWAITING TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY. THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS WARNING SIGNS OF THIS EVENT HAPPENING AND AM VERY GLAD MY WIFE WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH DIFFERENT. LOOKING ONLINE, THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS FROM DODGE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MUCH MORE SERIOUS INCIDENT HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

THEY STATED IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT THAT THEY KNOW THEY HAVE INSTALLED A DEFECTIVE PART THAT CAN CAUSE FUTURE CAR DAMAGE, BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH IGNITION SWITCH, SOMETIMES AS SOON AS I START THE CAR THEN ENGINE WILL DIE. I THOUGHT INITIALLY THAT I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND I LET IT PASS BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS NOT HEAVILY USED, BUT STARTED SEEING ONLINE THAT PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. I TRIED SWITCHING KEYFOBS BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. FORTUNATELY, I'VE NEVER HAD THE ENGINE DIE ON ME WHILE DRIVING, BUT SEEMS LIKE IT COULD HAPPEN. I NOW HAVE REMOVED EVERYTHING FROM MY KEY CHAIN FOR THIS CAR AND BASICALLY DRIVE THE CAR WITH ONLY A VERY LIGHT KEY RING ATTACHED TO THE KEY. I ALSO HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED SINCE THE RECALL NOTICE CAME TO ME. THAT WAS LAST YEAR! I'VE REPEATEDLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THIS RECALL. A FEW WEEKS AGO (TODAY IS 9/24/2015) I GOT A NEW NOTICE TO TAKE THE CAR IN, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, GOT THE CAR IN THE SHOP; SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED ME IN THE AFTERNOON STATING THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS!! AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY'LL BE AVAILABLE. THIS RECALL (P57) AND (R25) ARE ISSUES THAT CAN CAUSE LOSS OF FUNCTION WITHOUT WARNING. TO ME IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE COMPANY IS NOT MAKING SURE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

HE SENT US THE PICTURE, WE HAVE BEEN USING TUFFY'S FOR A WHILE AS OUR MAIN REPAIR SHOP FOR OUR OTHER VEHICLES AS WELL. YOU COULD SEE THE RIM OF PISTON 4 WAS 3/4 GONE.

ENGINE COOLING FAN BECAME SEPARATED FROM FAN HOUSING AND BECAME LODGED IN RADIATOR. THE FAN CONTINUED TURNING, CAUSING RADIATOR FAN BLADES TO BREAK OFF AND BOUNCE AROUND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE RADIATOR DUMPED ALL COOLANT, AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATED WITHIN MOMENTS. I SUBMITTED ALL MY MAINTENANCE RECORDS SHOWING THAT I WAS GETTING MY MAINTENANCE DONE AND THEY CAME BACK DENYING MY WARRANTY CLAIM. I FEEL LIKE CHRYSLER IS JUST A BIG RIP-OFF WITH THEIR WARRANTIES CAUSE ITS FUNNY THE SERVICE LADY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NO OIL SHOWING ON THE DIPSTICK AND I HAD MY MECHANIC TO LOOK AT MY CAR A DAY BEFORE I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS 3QTS IN THERE SO SOMETHING SOUNDS FISHY TO ME. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND IM NOT ALONE AND THEY REALLY NEED TO CHECK INTO THIS PROBLEM BUT ITS VERY CONVENIENT FOR THEM TO DENY HAVING TO REPLACE THEIR DEFECTIVE ENGINES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHILE CLEANING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE COOLING LINE FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT HAVE ANY PROTECTION AND EXHIBITED ABNORMAL WEARING. AS THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, THE HOSE SPLIT IN HALF, CAUSING COOLANT TO SPEW ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AS A RESULT OF THE HOSE SPLITTING, THE AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

I HAVE A 2008 DODGE CHARGER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS WONDERING WHY. I TOOK THE CAR INTO AUTOZONE TO GET THE SCAN VIA OBDII, THE SCAN CAME UP WITH CODE P1004 WHICH IS A DEALER CODE. I IMMEDIATELY RESEARCHED THE CODE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS DUE TO MY "SHORT RUNNER VALVE" AND MY INTAKE MANIFOLD. THIS ISSUE IS A WIDESPREAD EPIDEMIC AMONG CHRYSLER CARS; SEBRING, CHARGER, 300...MOSTLY 3.5 ENGINES. THE DEALERSHIP (DARCARS DODGE NEW CARROLLTON MD) TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW IT IS OUT OF HAND AND ALSO THAT THE FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS TO BE LINKED TO EMISSIONS. THIS IS VERY CONFUSING TO ME AND ALSO BAFFLING. CHRYSLER TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED THE NEXT DAY AFTER THEY CALLED TO CONFIRM INFORMATION ON FRIDAY OCT.15. I NEVER RECEIVED THAT CALL. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE THE COMPANY REALLY CARES ABOUT IT'S CONSUMERS ONLY HOW MANY CARS THEY CAN SHOOT OFF THE LOT. EVEN WITH FURTHER RESEARCH IT IS A KNOWN FACT TO THE COMPANY THAT THEY RUSHED PRODUCTION ON THE 3.5L MOTORS, BUT WHY? ARE WE NOT CONSUMERS? WE HAD PURCHASED A 2008 DODGE CHARGER WITH 2 MILES. APPROXIMATELY 3-4 MONTHS AFTER WE HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT HAD ENGINE OIL ON CRANKSHAFT SEAL, SPEEDOMETER WAS ERRATIC IT WOULD GO FROM 60-0 FROM CRUISING, IT HAD A JOLT PULLING FEELING. FROM THAT POINT ON THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT COOLING PROPERLY, & HAD A FOUL SMELL, CRUISE CONTROL WOULD CANCEL BY ITSELF. THEN ON 06/23/2008 IT HAD ENGINE OIL LEAK. SO WE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD JUST COMPLETELY RUIN OUR CREDIT, WE VOLUNTARILY TURNED IN THE CAR. AS OF TODAY 02/26/2009 WE HAVE A BALANCE AS PER CHRYSLER OF 7,500 DOLLARS BECAUSE THEY WERE ONLY ABLE TO SELL IT FOR 17,000. I HAVE INVOICES, TO PROOF WHAT OUR ISSUES WERE, SOME WERE REPLACED, SOME TSB WAS AND WASN'T FOUND. WE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY 7-8 MONTHS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH DODGE CHARGERS (2006 - PRESENT). WHEN ACCELERATING AND PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL A "WHISTLE" SOUND CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM THE POWERTRAIN / ENGINE SECTION. THE SOUND ONLY OCCURS DURING STEADY ACCELERATION BETWEEN 40 - 65 MPH. IF THE GAS PEDAL IS RELEASED OR PRESSED HARDER THE SOUND GOES AWAY. MANY CHARGER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE ON THEIR VEHICLES (SE, SE+, SRT, R/T, ETC..) BUT THE SERVICE CENTERS AT THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE YET TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS YET.
