Your front driver's side tire suddenly blew out while you were driving at 25 mph and turning left, causing you to lose steering control and crash into a guardrail. The tire was a Dexteero DHT2 (P265/75R/16) with only about 100 miles of use. The exact cause of the failure wasn't determined, but the sudden blowout made the vehicle unsafe to control.

You bought five Toyo Proxies (285/60/18) and experienced sidewall blowouts on two of them within six months, along with premature cracking on all five tires. A tire inspection business condemned the tires and confirmed the defects, but the manufacturer ultimately refused to warranty or prorate them after receiving the tires back. Because you travel highways frequently at high speeds, these sidewall failures created a serious safety risk that could have caused a severe accident.

LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I AM A ASE CERTIFIED MASTER TRUCK TECHNICIAN WITH 16 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. AFTER LEARNING OF THE SAFETY RECALL ON THE 285/75/16 DICK CEPEK RADIAL FCII, I INSPECTED ALL 5 OF MY TIRES. FOUR OF THE TIRES HAD MATCHING DOT CODES AND LOOKED FINE. THE FIFTH TIRE WAS BOUGHT AT A LATER DATE FROM THE ORIGINAL FOUR. THIS FIFTH TIRE IS SHOWING THE SIDEWALL SEPARATION THAT IS NOTED IN THE RECALL. WHEN I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER DIRECTLY AND READ THEM THE DOT CODES OFF OF THE TIRES I WAS TOLD THAT NONE OF THEM MATCHED THE MANUFACTURING CODES OF THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT ME IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE THIS FURTHER. *JB

NOTICED VIBRATIONS THROUGH STEERING WHEEL AND AUTOMOBILE WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT.HAD TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED.TECH NOTICED THAT THAT LEFT FRONT TIRE HAD BROKEN BELT. REPLACED TIRE. THE TREAD/BELT ON ONE TIRE STARTED TO SEPARATE FROM THE INNER CASING. THE SALEMAN AT DISCOUNT TIRE SPOTTED ONE OTHER TIRE SHOWING SIGNS OF IMPENDING FAILURE. I STILL HAVE A SPARE FROM THE SAME SET. THE OTHERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. WITH THE FORD/FIRESTONE PROBLEMS, I THOUGHT THIS TIRE MAY BE INDICATING ANOTHER MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. THE SALESMAN SAID HE HAS SEEN QUITE A NUMBER OF THE SAME PROBLEM.
