ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Buick Verano and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in PARK. Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the key cylinder lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on October 14, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, Buick 1-800-521-7300, and GMC 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 50490 and 50491.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE
Genera Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu, Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles. The radio may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when the key has been left in the ignition and the door is opened or when the driver does not fasten their seat belt. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection", and/or 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began on March 14, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15808.

My car caught on fire under the hood. As I was driving on road I heard a sound and my car started slowing down and smoke started coming from under the hood got out the car not a minute later flames of smoke engulfed the car

Engine power reduced defect, causing affected models to lose power while driving at highway speeds. My son’s was driving 55 MPH and then all of sudden the car decelerated to 20 MPH in minutes before his 2016 Malibu stalled on [XXX]. Unfortunately the car did not make it to the emergency lane and as a result a SUV hit his car killing my daughter who was 33 weeks pregnant.

The electrical chip in my EBCM has a malfunction and the brakes will grab and grind at random times. Also at the time electronic stability control will mess up increasing the risk of a crash. Other malibu vehicles with the same year have had a recall on these parts.

Driving on highway at speed of 70mph during rush hour very very busy when my car shows a warning engine power reduced and slows all the way down to 20mph lucky I was able to get over the 3 lanes of traffic without causing an accident but this is very unsafe I looked to see if there was a recall on the vehicle but there’s not so I had a mechanic look at the car and they said nothing is wrong with it ???

I was driving on the I-10 west highway at 70mph when all of a sudden a engine power reduced message came across the screen & due to the loss of acceleration I was almost rear ended by an 18 wheeler because I couldn't pull over to the side of the road fast enough...also, on some days when I start my car it doesn't make any noise so therefore the radio will not work, the signal light sounds doesn't work, nor does the seatbelt sounds work .

The car has a seat belt electrical problem it makes sound once in a while indicating for the driver to put their seat belt on. Also there is issues with the brake sensor. The #1 issue is the Transmission Accumulator Pressure Pipe, when it breaks all your transmission oil pours out from the bottom of the vehicle.

THEY ALSO INFORMED ME WITH ALL THE MALIBU'S HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM IS SHOULD BE A RECALL. I WENT TO A ANOTHER CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE EXACT SAME THING. CHEVY WANT US TO ENJOY THE CAR BUT WILL NOT GO THE EXTRA MILE TO DO RECALLS ON THEM WHEN THEY KNOW IT'S A BIG PROBLEM. MY CAR ALSO BE STUCK IN 'SHIFT TO PARK' WHEN IT'S ALREADY IN PARK, I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY RESTART MY CAR AND TURN IT OFF FOR THE MESSAGE TO GO ALWAYS AND MY CAR IS OFF, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE IF YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR IN SHIFT TO PARK THAT WILL COMPLETELY KILL YOUR BATTERY. ALSO, WHEN I START MY CAR IT SOUND LIKE A BUNCH OF WATER JUST MOVING AROUND BUT IT'S NOTHING LEAKING BUT YOU CAN HEAR THE WATER ONCE YOU START THE CAR. THE BRAKES ON THE CAR DO NOT LAST LONG ENOUGH! I WENT TO GET SOME BRAND NEW BRAKES IN OCTOBER AND WAS TOLD FROM TWO DIFFERENT CAR SHOPS THAT I NEED NEW BRAKES . THESE PROBLEMS IS RIDICULOUS AND DANGEROUS AND COULD BE FIXED BY RECALLING THE CARS AND FIXING THE PROBLEMS .

THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK BECAUSE IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY GOING 60 MPH, AND IT DROPPED SPEED TO 35 MPH! THIS IS SO DANGEROUS! ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT HAPPENED AT NIGHT IN A SECLUDED AREA.
