TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS STARTED, THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR LEAKED AND THE INTERIOR CABIN EMITTED A FOUL ODOR. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THE FUEL PRESSURE UNIT WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH MY GAS HAND NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN THERE IS GAS IN MY CAR, NO MATTER IF IT'S FULL OR ALMOST EMPTY, THE HAND STAYS ON FULL FOR THE MOST PART. IT DOES NOT DETECT THE PROPERTY AMOUNT OF GAS IN MY CAR. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, FUEL GAUGE AND NEEDLE. *TR
VEHICLE WILL ON OCCASION NOT START AND DISPLAYS A FLASHING SECURITY LIGHT IN THE INFORMATION CENTER. IF I WAIT 10 MINUTES THE SECURITY LIGHT WILL GO OUT AND THE CAR WILL START. DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE AS PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AND NOT REPRODUCIBLE. PROBLEM HAPPENED ON OCCASION OVER NEXT SEVERAL YEARS, ALL WITH SAME SYMPTOMS. EACH TIME MET WITH THE SAME DEALER DENIAL AND LACK OF ABILITY TO REPRODUCE THE SYMPTOMS. THIS YEAR THE PROBLEM BECAME FREQUENT AND TURNS OUT TO BE A DEFECTIVE PASSLOCK II SENSOR OR IGNITION SWITCH. FROM READING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED OR ACKNOWLEDGED BY GM. PAID $1500 FOR REPLACEMENT OF IGNITION SWITCH AND BCM AT LOCAL CHEVY DEALER, WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

SINCE ONE MONTH AGO, I STARED TO PERCEIVE AN STRONG FUEL ODOR, BUT EVERY TIME I OPENED THE HOOD I COULD NOT FIND THE LICK. FINALLY YESTERDAY I DID THE SAME, AND I FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL PRESS REGULATOR WAS THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT USING THE CAR NOW INSTEAD I AM USING MY TRUCK. I CHECKED SEVERAL INTERNET SITES AND I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
