Your Equinox randomly enters Reduced Engine Power mode, limiting you to about 25 mph without warning. This happens even after you've replaced the high-pressure fuel rail sensor and fuel pump. The issue may involve a faulty sensor, electrical connection, or engine control module that needs diagnostic testing to identify what's triggering the power reduction.

Fuel pump stopped working and caused the car to stall while moving at high speeds. Only has 120000 miles on it. Almost crashed into another car.
Engine runs rich with a P0172 code and requires a new fuel pump to resolve the issue. Causes an engine light, fluctuating tach reading at idle, excess fuel consumption, and some performance issues as the computer figures out how to compensate.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CONSUME AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. THE CONTACT HAD TO ADD A QUART OF OIL EVERY 2,000 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PINEGAR CHEVROLET (769 E, US-60, REPUBLIC, MO 65738) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE 02 SENSORS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE ISSUE TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 145,000.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE P0011 GENERIC TIMING OVER ADVANCED INAKE CAMSHIFT POSITION (BANK 1) CAR IS HESITATING AND BUMPY AT LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS AND IN REVERSE HAS STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES - FIX TO THAT CODE SAID TO CHANGE OIL THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, CONTINUES TO STALL - HAS BEEN CAREFULLY MAINTAINED
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FREQUENTLY. CAR RUNS VERY ROUGH. STALLS. TOOK TO DEALER. REPORT RECEIVED: IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES 100 F DEGREES OR HIGHER, DTCS P2635 AND/OR P108B MAY SET. THE VEHICLE MAY ALSO EXHIBIT A HESITATION OR STALLING CONDITION. CAUSE: EXCESSIVELY HOT AND SUSTAINED AMBIENT TEMPS OVER 100 F DEGREES CAUSING VAPORT BUILDUP IN FUEL FEED LINE. ADVISED TO USE GREATER THAN 91 OCTANE FUEL, KEEP IN COVERED GARAGE. THERE IS NO FIX! WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US: WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, CAR BOGS DOWN AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE, SLOWING WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. ON WAY HOME, 96 DEGREE DAY, TWO BABIES IN CAR WITH GROCERIES, STOPPED AT A LIGHT ON HEAVILY TRAVELED, TWO LANE ROAD, CAR STALLS OUT AND WILL NOT RESTART FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHILE COMING OFF THE INTERSTATE THIS MORNING, THE CAR ALMOST STALLED AGAIN. IF CAR WILL STALL WHILE IDLING OR ACCELERATING, THIS COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. TO BE TOLD THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING.
CAR STALLS AND LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING LOSING STEERAGE AND CONTROLL OF THE VEHICLE
VEHICLE STOPPED TWICE TRYING TO PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY.
DURING TRAFFIC IN A 25 MPH ZONE, I LIGHTLY PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, AND MY CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. RPM'S JUMPED SIGNIFICANTLY. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED SMELLING FUEL IN MY OIL. THEY REPLACED THE HI PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, BUT THE FUEL IS STILL GETTING INTO MY OIL.

THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. UPDATED 2/11/14*CN ANOTHER DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE HIGH VALVE FUEL PUMP ON THE ENGINE AND IN THE GAS TANK. THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE TRADED THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 02/18/14
