GM IS RECALLING 27,188 MY 2009 CADILLAC ESCALADE, ESCALADE HYBRID, ESCALADE ESV, AND ESCALADE EXT; CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, SUBURBAN, TAHOE, TAHOE HYBRID, AND COLORADO; AND GMC YUKON, YUKON HYBRID, YUKON XL, AND CANYON VEHICLES. THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULES MAY HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH AN ADHESIVE SEPARATION OF THE ROOM TEMPERATURE VULCANIZING (RTV) SEAL BETWEEN THE SEAL AND THE HOUSING MAY ALLOW WATER TO SEEP INTO THE MODULE.
Fix: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 18, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339, CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 AND GMC AT 1-866-996-9463 OR AT WWW.GMOWNERCENTER.COM.

I WENT TO PULL MY TRUCK OUT OF THE GARAGE AND IT WOULD NOT START. A MECHANIC CAME TO MY HOUSE TO LOOK AT IT AND STATED THAT IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL. UPON DIGGING INTO THE REPAIRS THE FUEL MODULE HAD WATER IN IT. THE MECHANIC WENT TO O'REILLYS FOR THE PART AND WAS ADVISED OF A RECALL # 08411. I REPORTED MY PROBLEMS TO JIM BUTLER CHEVEROLET AND SEPAUGH BOTH WHOM REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS RECALL. I ALSO CALLED GM ABOUT THIS RECALL AND GOT NO WHERE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET TO WORK FOR 1 DAY AND THEN RIDES FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK TO WORK. THIS IS CAUSING AN INCONVEINCE TO ME AND MY COWORKERS, AS WELL AS PUT OF POCKETS COST FOR THIS REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V154000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
MY VEHICLE BROKE DOWN DUE TO KNOWN GM RECALL NO. 08411 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V154000.) AFTER PAYING OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE IT TOWED INTO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER, THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AS STATED IN THE REMEDY. FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE SENT A CODE INDICATING AN OPEN CIRCUIT. GM HAS A RECALL BUT OF COURSE MINE IS NOT PART OF IT. THE ENGINE WOULD STALL WITHOUT NOTICE. COST $320 TO FIX. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV AND JERK SLIGHTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN SHUT OFF AND THE CONTACT COULD SMELL A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A RODENT CHEWED THROUGH THE PLASTIC FUEL LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
